So what is the difference between the XR650L and XR600R kit? Different mounts?

Mark-

Sorry to hear about your accident & glad you came through it in one piece. I found out about your oil cooler from a post on the XR250 thread. I have an 84' XR250R. As you may know, due to heating issues, these particular bikes can be prone to over heating and can suffer cracked heads. I don't believe my new bike has suffered from this issue and I would like to keep it that way. Any possibility you will be making mounts for other older bikes, such as mine? I don't expect to be in the dessert much here in Washington State, but I would like to hit the "Dessert 100", just to be able to say "I did it". Mostly just interested in the added security of an oil cooler. REALLY like the mount you came up with, nice looking system!

Hi Mark what exactly is the difference between the HD & Lite Kit? Is it just the the frame mount extension? If so, do you have a pic showing what it is?

Thanks,

Cumbacheech

Hi Cumbacheech,
The frame mount is the only difference.
I hope this photo helps:

Thank you all for the best wishes on my recovery.
I am doing very well now. My knee looks strange but it does not hurt.

I really hope to get some kits ready soon... Hang in there. I am doing the best that I can.
I am now waiting for some Honda rubber bushings. They are back ordered. I guess I got all that they had in the US in my last order. If it is not one thing it is another. :huh

Ride safe my friends,
Mark

Hi guys and gals,
I FINALLY have all of the parts that I need to make complete kits. :clap:clap:clap:clap:clap

Thank you for your patience on this. I have been going crazy finding the correct parts to finish the kits.
This was a good lesson for me. I will have to re-think the way to find parts.
I am still using OEM Honda rubber bushings for the guard and rubber isolated oil cooler.
Well... It seems that I drained American Honda from all of these rubber parts. I received enough to make a batch of kits.
No fear, I found another source of the rubber parts that I need to make the kits in the future.

I am very sorry for the delay in providing my oil cooler kits.

Please remember that I do not do this for a living. I just do this to help inmates cool down the Big Red Pigs.:D:D:D:D:D

The price is still the same: see the first page. :deal

Cheers :freaky

Should not be a problem.
I have not found a tank yet that offered any problems.

Thanks for looking at my work.

Hello JD,
Thank you for the compliments on my work. :D

I can give you some quotes from some of the inmates on the performance of the kit.

"This oil cooler works well. Before the cooler, my bike would see 225 to 240 degrees regularly, the higher temps, especially at freeway speeds of 60 to 70 mph. I have the XR'sOnly oil temperature dipstick. Riding around on Saturday, it never got above 210! Sunday was a bit cooler. A fellow inmate and I rode out to Hacienda Santa Veronica which is just south and east of Tecate, and is probably at an elevation of 4 to 5000 feet. Much colder up there. I'm guessing the high there was in the 40's. The bike never got above 200. There were even times where we were running at 55 mph and the oil temp was sitting at 175."

"Definitely keeps the temp down. After checkin several times for drips and errors I ran her pretty hard for ~ 50 mi and she pushed 200 but came right back down once I relaxed the throttle and ran at a responsible pace."

"hey mark I've had the cooler on for a few weeks now and it works great!
Ambient air temps between 70 and 100 oil temps run 180 to 220 even riding hard or at slow speeds..."

I hope this helps,

Cheers, :freaky

First things first: Have a extra good 2013.
Remember me? Sebastián Corrales, from chile.

I want an upgrade kit.
I'll pay and you will have to send it like a "COMMERCIAL SAMPLE or GIFT". This is important to avoid customs exagerated delays.

And I have a question. Due to oil cooler desing is it possible that it builds up bottom dirt?

I hope your comments.
CHAUUU!!

Ok! the info you provided was very helpfull.
I'll go with the following set-up XR650L HD 'bare aluminum'
I reside in Jamaica so let me know what it would cost for shipping it here. I would mind expidite shipping at a low rtae [IMG].
as soon as I receive this info PM will be sent.
Also duty here is high 25% of CFI. So it would be well apreciated if invoice value reflect anything les than the actual sales cost say 60%:D
