The All New LIQUID COOLED R1200GS threadfest

I put money down the day I sat on it at the Seattle show. I was told I was 4th in line at the time (mid December), but I think they were fudging a bit. I ordered a fully loaded red one, but will demo the crap out of it before I make a decision. Its between that an F800GS. I was told late last week that the Seattle shop would be seeing 4 LC's in March, one is a demo, so mine would be April.

too bad they don't take any bikes in for the testrides. I'm pretty sure dealers get an extra discount on the demo bikes in order to be sold a bit cheaper later in the season. Maybe take a trip to the south of France as I'm sure they'll surely have some demos waiting for you

Deposit down a month ago; same I day put my 06 up for sale.

Told I'm (one of?) the first in Denver area but was unable to put an order in so according to dealer it just depends on what they "get". Hoping they get a white one with spoked wheels and other gadgets, IF not then :huh

More worried about this than the chance of test riding it and being disappointed... Once I got past the decision to get a new model year bike I've been psyched and just a little impatient.

I don't think its a coincidence that Herbert, the big kahuna at TT was riding one of these around Madagascar months before anyone else. I think TT AG has been, for some time turning into an AMG-like production house for BMW motorrad.

AMG though (and M), also TUNE the vehicles.

Each countrys importer/distributor has their own programs from warrenty length of time/milege to issues like the Demo plan. In the US, dealers have a warrenty program to encourage customer demo rides that reduces the price to the dealer a small percentage, but can not be resold until the bike has reached 2,500 miles. All of these programs factor into the cost of the bike.

Remember, nothing is free.

My dealership keeps their bikes max 10 k km. I don't know at which poit they sell them. But they have a big fleet of replacement bikes for clients. So replacement bike or testbike is probably the same thing.

October 4th 2012 deposit at SJ BMW put me in third place.
Second deposit for a buddy (without his knowledge) on the same day put him in fourth! :eek1

No not buying it for him he has to step up to his addiction and lay down some of his own hard earned duckets. I once had a buddy buy two jet skis and then drop one off at my house and let me know I owed him 6 grand. I bitched and complained then paid him the money. I then jet skied every weekend for years! Loved the sport and we still joke about it. This isn't the same friend so maybe you could say I was "paying if forward"

He buys the bike and the down payment is a gift, if not "his" deposit goes towards my purchase. Then I will let him ride the bike and he can then get in line to get one or a KTM its up to him.

I took my bike to the dealer today, and said goodbye. Now ready for the new arrival next month
