Honda CB500X

It looks like the exhaust on the cb500x is the same as the one on the cb500r, so do you think it will sound and perform the same.

I'm currently riding a CB500X in Nth Thailand and i'm pretty impressed. They go alright for a 500, went on some dirt roads and through a couple of creeks today and it handled everything in its stride. Its been quite comfortable (i'm 6ft tall) and i put 10lts of fuel in today at the 275km mark, not sure what the tank holds. I'm not about to trade the Triumph XC800 in on one but after 2 days in the saddle would recommend the bike for light adv/touring.

These are all things I like to rwad! Awesome. So excited to get mine..

They are £4950 in the UK, which - for a new bike - is close to 250cc prices.

A DL650 or Versys (both great bikes) are closer to £7000.

What is a decent compare in the USA?

ps. Back at the launch of the XT660Z, they were about £4200. How times change!

Theres a $1000 dollars difference between US and Canada prices.... Must be the speedo being in kph instead of mph that puts the price up that much seeing as the two dollars are at par.....
Generally, Canada pays around 10-20% more for like goods just because. Even so, its not a bad price if the quality is there.

I got my motorchclist magazine in the mail yesterday, and in the article up to speed about the new ctx700 it says, quote "Company officials couldn't divulge any actual numbers, but they did say dealers have ordered essentially every CBR250, CB500, and NC700x available" So I'm putting money down on one first chance I get.

This looks reasonably legit.

$5800.... WOW. That's a lot of bike for $5800. If Honda keeps the $500 ABS option (no reason it should be higher on the X than the other models), here's a nice fuel-injected 500cc twin with ABS that undercuts the price of a KLR by $200. Honda will sell every one it makes.

Came across this video - just an exhaust sound video so its nothing special but figured I would share it since a lot of us are itching for more info.

The aftermarket should be able to remedy that.

Went by my dealer yesterday. I'm still first in line for them. It still june. Still no price.

Dealers are hardly the last word on delivery predictions, but my dealer is saying May or June for the R and F models, Aug or later for the X.

If it makes you feel any better, a local dealer told me the X should be shipping July 2013.

I thought the ship date for the F and R was April 12th.
