I just wanted to finally introduce myself. I live down in Seward and have a couple of adv bikes. I rode street bikes back in college, in California, but then grad school and long winters as I moved north (British Columbia and then Alaska) interrupted my riding. I've lurked on the site a bit, but my job as a marine mammal biologist keeps me out on the water most of the summer. In any case, I'm hoping I can do the D2D this year and meet some of you in person.

I used to have this KLX250S as a playbike, but last year I replaced it with a little KTM105 that is more fun, but not as photogenic:

Haha. Those were meant for d2d and all them other gravel trip. But I won't be making it t d2d this year.
The Cali trip, I'm using michy roads 3. The tkc would had sucked if I used them.

Hopefully I can plan something next month for another Dalton run. This time all the way up .

Great news - there's another female DR rider here in Anchorage - one of my best friends!!! We took this photo after Joni's first ride on a dirt road today, the Burma Road. She loved it and wants to ride more dirt roads. She obviously has excellent taste in bikes.

This is my granddaughter and I with her bike, a Honda CRF250. She's learning to ride and does quite well. We got lucky and have the same color bike. Yes, she's only 16 but she's taller than I am. We bought this bike from a local inmate - ADVBMR - and it's fun to ride!

Since I sold off the GS I've been wanting to get back on the street. Sooo...after some creative titling and licensing processing, I managed to get my WR450 street legal. Had a great time hopping over the top to Dawson for D2D this year. It's not as comfortable at hwy speeds as the GS, but it gets me where I need to go. :)
