Speaking of that, when do you want to enjoy some beers and play with some routes? That way when we are only halfway through the route at dark, we can blame it on the beers at the planning stage?

Slow..i played and partied all weekend. No, I take that back. I verified the gas station south of Purgatory has normal hours, sells a variety of fuel and basic hot dogs. The gas station in Rico only sells 86, so if that matters to anyone, now you know.
I am getting some shoulder work Wednesday, should give me some down time to play with routes. Hopefully we can start scouting in a few weeks!

Did a little scouting last night, seeing if the road to Beaver Park was clear yet. All open, just went through a few minor snow patches. This is an area I plan to use to connect some of the goods. Mild dirt roads, but the views are great!

Finally! Got off my ass and ordered a Garmin 62stc and ram mount so I can join the ranks of the less lost! Looking forward to logging some tracks for this ride. Hoping to do some scouting this weekend. I had some stem cell treatments for my shoulder last week, so body is still a little tender, but hoping to ride some of the singletrack on the Uncompahgre Plateau this weekend, like Clear Creek and Aspen Loop.

Saturday was a good day on the Uncompahgre Plateau. The main trail I wanted to hit is still under seasonal closure, but what was open was good! Moved some trees, cut a few, and put on about 45 miles. Body and bike seemed to be working good so far!

Hey! See post one for an additional ride requirement. #5. Call the Dolores Ranger District and show support for keeping the trails open for motorized access in the Rico area. They need to see how many people have rode, or are interested in riding there. Even if you are just one of the lurkers for this ride, do it! You may want to ride here sometime, not just hear stories of how good it is!

Awesome Tomas! Glad you are healing up!
I have been getting some good riding in on the plateau. There is so much good trails over there, it will be hard to narrow it down!
Really looking forward to this ride! My mind seems to be constantly playing with different route options...We are going to need to roll early!

Do you have a link to the current MVUM (if there is such a beast) so everyone can see what areas you are talking about? I think it may help folks that are not from around there.

Loving the 5th requirement Trevor. Brilliant idea!!:deal

Big weekend of trail clearing coming up, you available? Sounds like it'll be mainly snow shoveling at this point unless we want to haul saws up rough canyon again:huh

working Saturday, but I will try for sunday if I can get away. Been moving some wood up on the plateau. Would love to do Rough Canyon again. My bike and myself are in better shape starting out this year! Fuck that one kicked my ass last year! Thanks for helping me through!:freaky

I emailed Debbie requesting a MVUM. On the Dolores Ranger District site, it didn't have one available for Rico. There are some available on PAPA's website,http://papatelluride.org/
