I've always gone slow and quiet anywhere near the ranches or where folks live, and try to be a solid citizen thru there...nothing worse than a bad public perception.

Not much you can do about the knuckleheads except show the locals there's good with the bad.

Time to hit craigslist for that beater XR250 :D

I have camped at Elephant Butte lake, it's about 15 minutes from down town. They have RV sites with power and water and a dump station. You can also camp right on the beach if you like to dry camp. There is also a small RV place in Winston, but I have not stayed there. There are also a few RV parks in ToC.

    Chris:

I just registered two registrations, one for me, and one for my son James Richards, though the registrations show them both for me. He should be a size medium, and I am XL.

I sent full payment from my bank, so you will get a check from Wells Fargo in a few days at the MNOHVA current address.

Let me know if there are any issues, you don't get the check, etc.

    Thanks.

We are bringing both, but I will ride the Tenere the whole time. My son does not want to drop it.

Booked a "courtyard" room at the Pelican. Stoked to be coming down again this year! Hoping to sample some more of that fresh Box watercress. It's amazing what grows in there.

I worked out the arrangements with Jessica, the owner of cafe BellaLuca to have our Saturday night dinner & raffle at her restaurant----:dg--(some of the best Italian food I've ever had).

We'll be able to sit in half of the interior of the restaurant, and we'll take over the whole patio area, and have the raffle out on the patio after dinner.

She asked that we have the dinner fairly early in the evening, so I'm going to let everyone know as we get closer to the event to be at the Bella Luca at 5:30 Saturday night.

Everyone will receive a $15 "cafe BellaLuca bucks" certificate, which will be redeemable towards any menu item (excluding adult beverages).

    :clap

Seems like it may have been the bike that pushed him into the sampling mode. I'm sure his new KTM 500 will carry him through anything....
