I've got something like that LED system but far less expensive from Whitehorse Gear. I ride a KLR sometimes on extended tours, which makes me frugal. I'm not saying that the yellow bags are the ultimate solution in hi-viz. I'm saying that every bit helps. Every time we attempt to make things idiot-proof, we are blessed with a superior idiot.
Which are the best suited dry bags you offer to be placed on top of the new RMSB's? Would it be your renegade dry duffle? Don't want anything bigger than the top of the RMSB's but big enough to be useful.
I think you are asking how much the bags weigh unpacked...? We have not weighed them yet but the Expedition Dry Saddle Bags weigh 6 lbs so my guess would be around 10. I will get you an exact weight when I get back in the office
I would not go much bigger than a Medium Rolie Bag. We have attached them top and they fit and work well
Ok. I still haven't decided between expeds and Rockies, but this whole "bigger" thing has me wondering... Why can I not buy a bottle holster for my 1.5 liter primus bottles?? Hint Hint Beg plead Please?
Hey. Thanks for all the info. I'm looking into soft bags but was curious, besides the dimensions, what are the main differences between the Rocky Mountains and the Expedition dry bags. Sounds like they're both waterproof, mount about the same, etc. I'm trying to make up my mind and can't seem to decide. Any help? Thanks. They look great from what I can tell.
Good question! First off the Rocky Mountains are 32-35 liters and the Expeditions are 19-22 liters per side. Also the Rocky Mountains are made from a proprietary vinyl backed ballistic material which is really strong and 100% waterproof. You are correct they do mount the same and function the same for the most part...biggest difference is the size
