Could you tell us L/100 in your short trip?

I got 1k on my bike and avg. is 6l/100km. But when riding economically on backroads, I managed 5.2L. In the city its so hard not to have fun once the light turns green

i am assuming this figure is one up and no panniers :) because i do city ride with two up paniers full
7.8l/100 but it is london traffic so its normal

Honestly I'm not too worried about the mileage - more the fun from the output of this bike that is most important. I was told the economy is reasonable and the fun is extraordinary - I think that's pretty on the money. :)

Wouldn't ride this bike to save fuel it will detract from what the engine can do but that's just my pov.

Im sure the paniers make a difference, they are exactly aerodynamic. But I also bought them for their carrying capacity, so I cant complain.

Well I've done a deal and ordered my new KTM 1190 Adv.
Haven't stopped thinking about one since my demo ride and although it's a shed load of money, I'm going to be retired at the end of July and this'll be the nice gold watch present to myself for years of service.

I cant think of a better argument than that

Well my wife is 60 kg and I am 70kg so we are not that heavy and the load is each side 5 kg in the bags!

It's thirsty in the heavy traffic you can sometimes see even 9lt/100 but I am talking about not moving traffic and moves every 10 sec . So stop and go :) .

By the way the figure I gave is also got a average speed of 28mph

Congratulations! Im sure its well deserved.
I cant imagine youll be sorry. I feel so good on that bike, its definitively taken my riding to a whole new level. Even the passengers I have taken with me say they feel much safer on it, thanks to my sureness and confidence. The bike is just so smooth and holds the line so well and turns with such ease.

Cant wait to get home from a business trip and get back on it!

How are the heat issues of a 1190 compared to a 990 with stock mufflers?

Didn't spend a lot of time on the 1190R but heat comes from the engine.
Down, left side. Heats your leg.
Not enough time on traffic to feel the heat on the seat.

On the 9X0 the heat comes from the front vents (radiator, you'll only feel it when riding on shorts pants or on really heavy traffic) and exhaust.
Rear, Up. Heats your ass.

Can any of you lucky owners commnet on the maintainance requirements such as oil change procedure (hopefully simplified from the 990/950), valve inspection/adjustment intervals, air filter replacement process, etc....

Might I ask which tank bag that is? It looks good. The OEM sucks

Not sure anymore! Had to change country and can't take my bike on the boat
and didn't really pay attention. I think it's Givi. I'll confirm later.
Really good stuff. Has a clip you you mount on the fill cap and the bag clips on. No straps around the tank just a safety belt in front. 2 second on and off! Also has a removable belt with small pockets around the bag that can serve as a belt.

Never rode a 990 but it get's hot...really hot!! Mostly when the fan(s) are blowing. Definitely needs some custom heat shields.

1190 gets very hot in traffic! 2 days ago after riding 1 hour in traffic i had a heat rush developed inbetween my legs. i didnt have any leathers i only got jeans.its so much heat that when you waiting 20 sec on lights even your pillions says the bike is hot not very happy about this but i am sure in winter it will be fantastic.
the bike needs heat shelds definetly, no brainer.
