I've never really ridden much singletrack at all. I hit a couple nice singletrack areas at Rampart Range a few years back, and it was AWESOME. I'd like to start doing more of that this year, but I live in Longmont and seldom get down to Rampart and that area. Could anyone point me to good resources to help find singletrack in CO? Web sites, books, stuff with GPS tracks would be great. Thanks!
Head to the closest ranger station and ask, several of them guys are avid riders and can point you in a good direction.
JOIN THE NCTR. GREAT GROUP. THEY MEET ONCE A MONTH AT THE KTM DEALER IN LOVELAND. CHECK OUT THEIR WEBSITE.
Awesome! Thanks everybody! Good to know about NCTR and as soon as my 1150GSA sells (feel free to bump my ad and tell your friends btw! haha! ), I'd planned to head up to Elite KTM in Loveland anyway! Don't think my GS would be so good on a singletrack.
I have had good luck with some of the maps from the forest service/BLM station, espically some of the National Geographic maps.
I simply don't get it. NCTR, BCTR, CMTRA, clubs on western slope. NOTHING in all of Denver. I'd particularly like to see a South Metro club get formed that focuses on access issues and that has group shananigans (err...rides) for its members. I'd think we could meet at Fay Myers, but I'm in no position to get it going.
I'll definitely give a positive shout out to those NCTR folks. I'm not even in CO, but they've invited me to some of their get-togethers in The Swell and Moab, and they've been some of the nicest most hospitable people I've ever camped and ridden with.
