The Monster Z1000 is one of the modified bikes of a local Kawasaki dealer here near Heidelberg. He's quite well known for his Kawasakis and Aprilias.

Btw. that's were I got my green 2012 Ninja 650 (called ER-6F here in Germany) last year.

    I've got a 1000 cc Z as well... It's just made by Yamaha :D

I would absolutely love one of the new Z1000s though. I love the way these bikes look, and I am sure they perform great as well.

Typical Iowan... Helmet is protecting the back seat.

When I ride around Council Bluffs I feel like I'm the only one wearing a helmet. I've actually seen people remove their helmet while riding while crossing the bridge into Iowa.

Just messing with you. Ride with whatever protection you fee you need. I don't always wear a jacket when I ride. Sometimes it's just too hot.

I'll jump in here as another Z rider, and even another Iowan. 2004.

I use this pic everywhere, but I haven't had the chance to get my camera out again.

If anyone is looking to get rid of their stock exhaust, I'd be more than happy to pay for shipping, and either send you cash, or my Muzzy Carbon Fiber cans for it.

PM me if anyone is interested.

Imyamen - I was just giving you a hard time. I do see a lot of Iowans without helmets though. Glad you're in full gear and glad your wife likes to ride on the back.

O-man21 - Nice Z! I wish I had stock exhaust, I'd trade you. Unfortunately, my stock cans have had the guts ripped out and the caps tack welded back on by the previous owner. It's ultra loud, straight pipe loud. I would love to have a quieter bike.

SW - my jacket is so mesh I can see through n the places where there aren't pads. It's still hot in August!

    :spam:spam:spam:spam ALERT!!!

Hey guys I'm a former Z1k owner pics can be seen at post 105 in this thread.

I was cleaning the garage the other day and found a tailbag that I bought from a guy off the board here (Bald Kirk maybe, I don't really remember) and I don't use it on any of my other bikes. It fits over the passenger seat and is a pretty nice bag. It is soft sided so you either need to fill it up, or like I did put a soft sided lunch cooler in it for rigidity.

It's a Luggage Locker Elite Seat Sak as seen here (mine is all black, no colored trim) http://www.luggagelocker.com/elite-seat-sak.htm The dude that makes them is no longer in business but was asking $159.00 when in production.

I'd be willing to deal mine for $60.00 shipped if anyone is interested. PM me here if you are. Pics of the item in question upon request, or if I don't get beat down too bad, I'll throw a couple up here. Sorry for the interuption.

Perfect! I've been looking for a tail bag for my Z for a trip later this summer. Are all of the zippers in good condition? How water resistant is it? Where are you located?
