KTM LC8 Air Filter Kits by SW7

just wanted to post so i can keep up with the jetting. looking forward to getting the filter for my SE.

The ITG JC30/65 "angular" fits, or do you suggest the sausage type? And is the trumpet cutting necessary?

Standard oval or "angular" fits fine with no modifications on ADV and SM. Its only the SE or SM-R that require the sausage or domed version and need their intake velocity stacks trimmed. Either work well.

In all actuality I will probably wait a week or two to get it on. working lots of hours and feebly attempting to do a bath remodel at the same time

I doubt I have stock jets, so will wait until I pull it apart to order any. Probably use a set of 42 pilots until after the trip, the 45's after for more power/screw economy. I normally got 35mpg with the current set up - can't be much worse than that.

So you're generally not running a richer jet on the rear cylinder? Thought normally it was a little richer due to the heat......

Look what showed up today, weekend project forth coming. Luckily i already have most everything already off the bike from recent valve check.

Nope, I run the same mains though I'm in the minority. Most everyone goes one or two up on the rear. Intake runs are unequal and there is an argument for heat in the rear...though the motor is water cooled.

35 isn't too bad if you're spanking it. Leisurely touring and yeah, not so great. This is more often than not caused by too high a float height. I bet its set at the factory 3mm? Guys generally bump the jets and raise the needle making it very rich through the bottom end. Let us know what you find when you dig into it...and good luck with the bath remodel.

About the mileage I'm pretty happy.

Got 6.3l/100km, this is about 37,4mpg...

Was a 280km ride with highway, towns and and lots of speed

About the third clip: Think this will lower my mileage... I thougt about 0.5 more on the screws, I have a longer choke time now.

And next time I'm at the carbs I'll put my powerblades in

Could be it works but man, that sounds like trouble to me. I'll be curious to learn how it does... Keep an eye on the mufflers. My best guess is that they will burn like a booster rocket.

Theres been a few guys I know who've de-catted the stock pipes. There's also been a few guys on adv who totally gutted the stock pipes and made them into performance pipes...

You are right about the AFR. I wasn't reading the graph correctly. I'd agree that turning in the screws and maybe even dropping to the next size smaller main may be a good idea.
