    Hi Folks

I find myself on the organising committee for this years HU Queensland Travellers Meeting and it's my pleasure to announce the dates etc for this years event.

Looks like there will actually be 4 events in Australia this year:

Queensland - Beaudesert (yep..it's been moved from Dayboro) - October 3rd to 6th

    http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/events/queensland-2014

    Perth - Fairbridge Village - October 10th to 12th

    http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/events/perth-2014

    Victoria - Cavendish - October 24th to 26th

    http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/events/victoria-2014

New South Wales (final dates and locations to be confirmed)

This post is specifically about the Queensland 2014 event though which has been moved this year and is now being held at the Beaudesert show grounds which is larger and has much improved facilities as this event just keeps getting bigger.

This will be the largest so far with over 250+ attendees expected so we are planning parallel streams of presentations and hands on demonstrations/workshops over the whole 3 days of Labour weekend.

This years theme is about shorter more achievable travels for those of us that can't spend 2 years on a RTW trip. Lot of us here take these kinds of trips and we are always looking for interesting yarns so if you have a story to tell jump on and register as a presenter.

Will update more information as it comes to hand.

    See you there!

    Cheers
    John

    Hi everyone,

This year promises to be the best so far, so roll up, roll up.

Seriously though, new venue with more showers and toilets, option for caravan park/cabins right next door, motel about 300 metres down the road and all services within walking distance.

We've got some stellar travellers lined up for presentations and the theme this year is "The Achievable Dreams". So whilst we will still have some inspiring stories, we will also have plenty of how-to practical advice on how to get out there, including how to have adventures without selling up everything.

Hope to see you all there.

    Regards,

    Shane

On Sunday a group of budding adventure riders set out from CJ's pastries at Woodford to a secret location for a day in the dirt.

We all had a great day learning new skills and consolidating old skills. Full credit to everyone who attended and especially Scott who organised the day and lead us through thinks and thin.

Although we will be on the showgrounds and won't have access to mudholes, we plan on running a really good skills session at the HU Beaudesert meeting.

Hi guys, I'm currently living in Melbourne before I start an undefined journey from Australia to Portugal with my motorcycle. Unfortunately my bike it's still in Portugal and it won't be here on time for the HU Travellers Meeting, which I'd love to go, so I was wondering if anyone could give me a lift. Obviously I'm willing to share the costs of fuel, food, and a few stubbies for the trouble. Cheers

Awesome, for one reason (mostly traveling) or another we haven't been able to make it to a HU meet up in the past. Planning on making it to the Cavendish, Victoria meet up coz we'll most likely be around for it :-D
