no organized race....just a great group of people that love bikes.....plus a BBQ at the end of the day
Love to be there Mark, Whyswoman and I are in BC, though in different towns... Would love to be there. Enjoy; for sure next year!
Is there races until the ice melts? My buds and I are thinking of riding sleds down there to watch. Two of them are thinking of studding DTs for next year. Is there a web site, location map, admission cost? I'll GOOGLE it,I forgot it's 2013.
We'll be out there till the ice goes .....what a blast today, perfect weather and about 40 bikes rippin it up in the sun...what a way to celebrate my 59th BD with my son and all the great people that make it happen DT's are great ice bikes... there were a few out there today You can check out all the latest poop on facebook...just type in Manitoba Ice-Racing and ask to join the group See you next weekend!
http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=4028682207782 Sorry Mark, I think snowmobiles are better suited for winter riding than motorcycles!
Here a few BBQ pics after the riding was over.... My son and I after stuffing down a few smokies and refreshments trying to jam as many as possible into the self timed camera pic...I barely got in there in time goofy headware optional food and refreshments for all ages some of the guys are pretty close...hahahahhahahah some previous weekends bike action shots on page 524 of this forum
Hi Carl...you might be right but I like 'em both although bikes are more fun. Take the short drive out next weekend and go for a few laps on our YZ and you'll see...just bring your helmet and an appetite for a great day. It would be great to see you.
Lake Superior is beautiful this time year. 5 mile rock, north of Grand Maris. Some waves have left their mark along the shore line
I remember when I was young and my parrents drove us down to Duluth or Minneapolis in the winter, the ice would be pushed up on the shore and it would be a pile about 40' high along the shoreline :eek1 It was really cool! Ice?...remember when there was ice on Superior :huh Have a safe drive BackRoader!
Duluth Mn. to Cameron Missouri, lots of fog and a great temp swing 28f to 69f Saw a few bikes, enjoying the warm spell.
Damn,I looked at the picture of you and your son and cant tell who is 59! Good on ya! The big 50 for me this year.
This is a weird question.. but where can I get a reflective canadian flag sticker? My new panniers need one before the big trip.
Would Travel Manitoba have some? I think there is a booth at the Forks. You could also try the Flag shop on Pembina just south of Wildwood.
Not sure if they are reflective or not but I remember seeing some fancy Canadian Flag stickers at Cdn Tire, I think that's where I got mine that I had on my previous bike. Can't remember if they were reflective or not.
