Was at work with the iPod on shuffle just yesterday... heard a certain call-in where Ned basically said "why worry about all that stuff... this has still been as epic as I hoped it would be."

    Good enough for me.

Big Thanks again to all involved (Ted, Ned, Robb, Bill, Jonah, Nate, and 93.3% of the posters in the F5 thread) for the best Dakar-watch ever.

Um, hey, what's the countdown to 2013?

At least you're getting to ride, can't say much of the same myself. Hey Neil, haven't you read the book yet?:lol3

I don't know what the production costs would be, but an audiobook version of the book might work well. Yes, it wouldn't have the pictures, but the story is compelling enough to make the purchase well worth it. You could even have the riders read the parts they submitted, and/or add in some of the rally radio podcasts.

I don't remember having strong feelings about Etienne Lavigne, but I'm guessing if I went through all of my posts over the last few Dakars I'd find a few where I complained about him. What was said about him in the book, though, really brings me to like the guy.

How do you not like the guy when he shows up in the middle of a stage to give a cold Red Bull to a beleaguered Toby, or jumps in to help people dig themselves out?

It would have still been a great book without it, but adding in sections of the some of the riders' first-hand accounts enhances the book dramatically.

Got back from a work trip on Friday, best book I have ever bought sitting on my desk ready to go. Everyone in my house was ignored all weekend while I made a "first pass". Ted this is brilliant!!

Stoked to hear the books are finally arriving to far flung destinations and thanks for the kind words. Late August was the end of the time frame that I was quoted. Thanks again for the patience. Once EVERY book ordered in the pre sale has been received I will begin regular sales.

    Cheers

    Ted

Kinda like a Beatles album Pete. Read it backwards while looking in the mirror and standing only on your left foot and the message will become clear :1drink
