2012 West Milford/Ringwood Leisure Ride Thread!!!

Hey Chris, are you riding this weekend? My thumb still hurts from my run in with that tree 6 weeks ago but I really just need to get back out there. I haven't been riding so I may be a little rusty (at least for the first 10 minutes).

Alrighty then, it's time to get this party started again. Just not this coming Sunday. I friend is coming here from Colorado to help me put some more miles on my street bikes, so I'll be riding with him for 5 days or so.
But next week I'll try to get something put together for those that like their trails sprinkled with a rock or two............million.

Lets get this thread going again.

Just found a picture of my very first "real" motorcycle........


Learned how to ride in the dirt with that little beauty. Dad had the mechanics put a little tiny pair of knobbies on it, taught me how to shift (it had a "twist shift" like an old Vespa), and sent me off into the woods at the ripe old age of 9. Blew the trans out of the poor thing in a year and then Pops got me a REAL dirt bike, a Sachs 80 Boondocker....

The 3 1/2 in the back is the bike that I learned how to go fast around turns with. Those things handled great.

wish I could...thought about it...just couldn't pull it off.

Had a couple of my old (well, not really as the one guy is only 33) Supermoto buddies come down from up by Kingston,NY for a romp in the North Jersey greenery. Started off the day at only about 1 1/2 miles into the woods my rear bearings all of a sudden.............................. disintegrated!!!!!!!!!!!!! Those 2 stayed and played around in the woods (neither one had plates:huh) while I went back home and did an emergency R & R on the bearings. About 20 minutes (couldn't catch the tiny lip on the outer race very easily) later I was back on the road heading over to them. We did about 34 miles of nicely groomed trails.
