Just going through our photos from the last six months on the road and found this one taken nr San Simeon and the Hurst Castle. We'd ridden Hwy 1 from Canada to get to that point but the section from Carmel to there was one of the best of our trip so far. Plus with the bike being right hand drive I got a good view of the sea on the way down . Simon
I didn't know there was a choice in topbox color, but I'm glad it's flat. Had spokes on my last GS, rusted real bad, also the type of riding I do, I really don't need spokers, the alloys are alot lighter, and from what I've heard, actually stronger than the avg. BMW alloy rim, not as soft, etc. This is a street bike, If I want a dirtbike, I'll get another DRZ..
Finally took a shot of my dreamboat today on the Santa Clara Divide road. If you look closely, there is actual mud on it. When I figure out how to post decent photos, I'll take another somewhere equally picturesque. (some new bits coming in the mail!) Also, pay no attention to the 2 characters behind the bike, but they do, of course, salute you.
Here's Mine. I Just Picked it up New a couple of weeks ago. Only 180 miles on her so far. I'v added Touratech Crash Bars,Gps Mount,Hand Guard Spoilers and Fender Extension and The BMW Cylinder Guards. More to come of Course.
under 6 months, over 12,000 mi., added: adjustable windscreen,,,,,,,,,,,z-technik valve cover guards,,,,,,,,,,touratech dual accsy. plugs,,,,,,,,,,,,bmw radar mount,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,my design throttle lock,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,my design wider footpegs,,,,,,,,,,,pirated design, my labor alternate rear rack,,,,,,my design underseat splash deflectors ,from GS info.com, (from 1/8" sheet rubber) working on a light bar for some big hellas, and will add a mainstand skid plate if i can get "twin headlight ernie" to tell me how to get it goming, every bit as nice as the bestrest, but cheaper!,and cheaper than i can make one myself. other plans include dumping the charcoal can, and a complete exhaust system,no cat!
Look at what the stork brought.... It's my late Christmas gift, birthday gift.... for the next 2 years. (So says my wife)
mudpao: thanks! post a pic of your black GS, i'm sure the guys would love it too. ridemuch: the BMW dealer is only about 10kms away but I still had them deliver the bike so I can see the servicemobile with my bike on the trailer. I've learned never to ride the bike to the office...... can't get any work done and couldn't stay for more than 30mins.
Very nice! Those wheels look sweet. The wire spokes are what you expect to get on a GS but those mags looks so cool!
Ok had my bike since Sept. I thought I should finaly post a pic, just got back from an overnighter at Hungry Valley day in the dirt. My first ever dirt ride .....<NOOB< p>
couple of pictures of my new gs, motorad hugger, fender extender, h/b bars, bm panniers, frame bung with bm emblem, etc
Left Manila for a supposedly short trip on my days-old GS, ended up in the Pines City of Baguio, 250kms away. Had lunch in the former US facility, Camp John Hay, then rode back home.
