Doesn't look like a 190km/h to me !!particularly after he passes the camera .

Because he's on the binders right before passing the camara. Listen to the revs and watch the forks.

You can buy the gas gas bike direct from JVO. It's a waste of time trying to deal with the factory.

I could have sworn I heard they were all about GNCC, nowadays?

yeah... that was the press release earlier in the year - focus on GNCC and wind down the Baja/Desert program...

Maybe JCR looking to a Dakar campaign...? B1K for testing? Hmmm... looking at that photo above...?

(JC thinking out loud about the CRF 450 rallye): "Hmmm... cut off the nav tower... replace with CRF Headlight mask/HD light bar (for night sections). Three riders, longer stints between tank/pits... less rider changes... more seat time..."

With the compact/centralized weight of the CRF Rallye design... without the bulk of the navigation tower and equipment up on the headstem... could be a pretty good combo for a peninsula B1K in the future? :ear

JCR has been involved in testing the Dakar platform for many years. He is a known quantity trusted by HRC, and has access to terrain that the Japanese do not at home. I believe they retain his services (and those of his riders) to put in the grueling hours of testing necessary to sort out problems that will never happen in a laboratory, as well as to endurance test engines, etc.

If JCR put all of their effort into it, I have no doubt that they could win the Dakar within 3 years. With only support from Honda, not a full factory deal. Pick and groom the right up and coming riders, build their own motors in house, and make their own decisions not the factory. It would be nice to see a serious effort from an American team with factory support, not just a few dedicated people living the dream, ( In debt ).

Can't see the very well established team (KTM) just rolling over :ear

Politics would be the hard one to overcome. If Honda put up the funding and let JCR handle the program like it did in Baja then I think they would give KTM a hard time. I don't think KTM would just roll over and give up but it would be a battle worth watching. Maybe just wishfull thinking but interest in rally raid style racing seems to be picking up here in North America. More so now that Rodger Norman is weeding out the bikes in SCORE.

The biggest hurdles are Honda's finances and Honda's demands on control.
