Could you find a bigger pic - that one's a bit hard to see! Given Melandri's proven speed over this past year, I suspect how well he does on the BMW will show whether the bike (and team) have been the problem over the past three seasons. I cannot think (given his speed the year before on the Suzuki) that Leon Haslam suddenly was simply not competitive.

Leon and Marco get thei rfirst taste of the 2012 BMW: http://superbikeplanet.com/2011/Oct/111018bmwporttest.htm
Pirelli To Use 17 Inch Tires Only In 2013 WSBK Source: http://superbikeplanet.com/2011/Oct/111018pirelli.htm Long overdue in my opinion - and if MotoGP wanted to really limit speeds (as opposed to the expensive honda-driven sham of going to the 800cc motors), they would do this and reduce the db output of the bikes from 130db to 105db, same as in most racing series on the globe.
Their first test with Marco, yet the spokesman proclaimes they got the feedback they expected. http://www.roadracingworld.com/news/article/?article=46411 I hope this PR release was an error. If BMW engineers and designers think they know what they are going to hear, it's obvious they don't hear anything. BMW is a total failure as a competitive force. They need to change people on the front lines.
Or, they made engineering changes in an effort to achieve X, and the riders confirmed X was achieved, or at least useful progress was made toward X.
Hey Pantah! Any idea what Josh Day's up to next year? It'd be good to see the rivalry with Jed Metcher resume.....
Probably the first to publish anything would be Roadracing World. They covered Day and Metcher pretty well the last half of the season. It was a good tussle right down to the wire. You know better than I, but I sense the World SS grid isn't as robust as it once was. I would think both riders would have a good seat in WSS, but who knows with this economy. Hopefully Kawasaki steps up like they did for JL and some of their other recent bright spots.
I hope you are right. I'd like to see BMW's competing for the double. I think it's curious that E Laverty ended up on Aprilia. There must be a story there. I hope he measures up.

I watched the superstock race live early Sunday. The commentators mentioned several of the riders moving up to WSS. Most notable that I can remember is Sheridan Morias with Kawasaki.
Big brave news. So where does this leave Batta? Do they get Factory stuff? Riders? Should be some interesting answers to those questions.... Bring it on!
Crescent wasn't the Factory team in BSB this year, so it doesn't look promising that they would be in WSB. But the stuff I've read coming from Batta isn't promising for them returning as the Suzuki Factory team because Suzuki isn't settled on what they are doing next year. I'm disapointed that he's made it sound like he won't run any other brand if Suzuki bails.
Exactly! So what makes Crescent feel they can do this with any success without Factory support. Which may/ may not mean they have it. (They ain't stupid...?) And if the Factory are going there, does that mean the end of the MOTOGP effort? Weirdness.
