Seriously thinking of going the week earlier next year to try to catch the weather - talked to a few locals and they reckon they have tried to have the fortnight shifted back a week to catch the better weather slots but the Manx won't go for it? Not sure if this is true?

You are going to have the best time of your life. Explore Douglas, meet the locals, soak it all in. Have fun!
Thanks,.....I haven't missed a TT in 12 years The atmosphere is like nothing else, the locals are amazing people. Can't wait.
I wish I was there! Good luck to all of those brave, crazy bastards. Let's go Guy! Brewing for a win!
I'm going for the first time this year, leaving Sweden on Monday, riding through Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Netherlands, United Kingdom to get there. Will spend 10 days on Isle of Man. Any pointers, tips, ideas and suggestions on what to see, do and expereance is appreciated, and natuarly, I will see the races.
Douglas has some great places to eat. I had some of the best Indian food there I have ever had in a small local restaurant. There are a lot of great places to see the races. Ballaugh Bridge has to be seen, as well as Quarter Bridge, Craig na Baa, and Ramsey. Where will you be staying?
Laxey Wheel is worth a visit too, and a trip on the electric railway from Ramsey to Douglas is great fun...lovely views.
In Laxey, there is a wollen mill where you can get wool blankets and scarves in a Manx tartan. Laxey is also the home of Manx Leathers - where I got a custom-made IOM leather patch for five pounds!
