Were there a lot of vendors selling stuff for good prices? I'd like to get some lift on my Tacoma.

I went a couple years ago in Amado, and while I would like to go again, I'd not expect to find any really good pricing on anything.

It was more focused on stuff for boondock camping and powering your in-truck refrigerator and coffee pot than lift kits.

But I do love the expedition camping notion.

Overland Expo = excuse to ride, drink, camp, & ride...:deal

Not that I need an excuse to do any of those...but I try to take advantage when these things come up!

    Here's what I'm thinking for a route:
Tombstone to Gleason, up 191 to Safford. Over to Globe. Up thru Roosevelt Lake. Payson to Pine, and then up to Mormon Lake.

Looks like 330+/-. About 6 hours.

Map recon an beer tommorow night in Garage Fortress Yaqui?

Even if I don't go, looking at routes north for July...

Count me in for that Brian. We can also do a bit of bad planning for for TOR.

We should come up with a highly detailed plan to not follow.

There is a road that goes north out of Benson, paved partially, then dirt which hooks up with 77 north San Manuel and east of Oracle.

I'm probably going to head up Thursday afternoon to meet some people I know from the early bronco world. Not sure if I am camping or going to find a room in a motel.

That's a great route. 77 to Globe is a nice road too . . . and if you have time and feel adventurous you could head off the west side of 77 about 15 miles north of Winkelman and ride about 25 miles of dirt roads through the Pinal Mountains to Globe. :evil I haven't ridden the part through the Pinals because it's usually not passable in winter when I'm there, but all my research tells me it would be a great ride . . . one of the places on my list. Make sure all the snow is gone before you try going through there . . . and do not attempt it if it's wet! Shouldn't be too difficult in dry conditions.

Have fun guys . . . can't wait to get back out there again!

I'm going up thursday morning. If that works out I could meet you guys at Cascabel and three links. I have one more suggestion. Coming north out of globe, go around the east side of the lake into young and then ride the rim road.

Lightfighter and I made the trek to the Overland Expo...721 miles in +/- 36 hours (including camping overnight). The dirt ride from Mormon Lake into Sedona was awesome, if not long. Good trip.

That was a good trip. Even if just to work out what the 690 needs and what I just want.

Also good to learn that when riding in the company of jeeps, you need to be the scout, not the sweep.

so, its getting on hot... though it got chilly up near flagstaff for the Overland Expo camp... and Im thinking I would like to get in an overnighter before the big vacation in late July.

I'm thinking a day up to the Alpine area, build a fire, drink a beer, sleep in a tent, breakfast at the Bear Wallow, ride home. Probably a lot of pavement, but when it's 191, that's not a negative.:deal

generally, I work sunday's... so friday morning up and saturday back would be easiest for me, but I could look into taking a day of leave on a sunday.

    anyone?

You son of a b¥+€h. You had me at beer, and then you throw in a picture like that...

This isn't going to be another one of those ones where I tell my wife I'll be home on Saturday afternoon and not roll in 'til after 11 PM, is it? :evil

    What weekend are you thinking?

I cannot control what you tell your wife...

If you wanna take off on friday again, then any weekend in June is open for me... so far.
