If I recall, that Repsol Honda was being developed to suit Dani who was at the time being touted as the next heir to the crown. Nicky was not happy with the cramped ergonomics which were better suited to the tiny Pedrosa. Plus Dani was getting all the good parts. That's what I remember, anyway. Others here might remember it differently.
As I remember it & someone will no doubt correct me. Pedrosa ran that years Gp bike . Hayden had a bike that was an amalgam of that years Gp bike & development stuff for the next years new 800 bikes. I think his bike had the new frame, it was not meant to be able to beat the current model it was very much Honda's test rig.
My predictions to move off the Pedrosa and Hayden hate. It WAS 8 years ago! I have grown to appreciate Pedrosa in that time. DP VR JL But I really want; VR SB DP MM in the top ten after crashing TWICE! Wild prediction but I don't think MM can't keep up the perfect streak. The more he is on top the harder I think it will be for him to keep a perfect record. I think he will make a mistake during this race.
MM is on record stating that the WC is his goal while # of wins isn't a priority. I don't think there is pressure for a streak.
We all know what one says and what one thinks is a little different. Even though he rides like he his super human I highly doubt his mind is. After all, none of the riders on the MotoGP grid got there without putting huge personal demands on themselves. He can smile all he wants. I know there is still a little pressure on himself to maintain a perfect streak and live up to all of the hype!
Is the World Cup game going to impact attendance or will everyone be home before the match starts? I'd love to see Bradl on the podium. As was mentioned before I hope he keeps his LCR seat. I think its time for Flock of Seagulls to move on though.
I just can't stop myself hoping the old dog Rossi takes the top spot. The more he races and continues to do well the more I'm a fan.
Pretty much. Hayden was on what was known as the lab bike and was vocal with his preference to ride the current model instead. Honda did little or nothing to help Nicky win the championship. The lab bike suffered an overheating clutch on multiple occasions that season. I was meaning to agree with you more than disagree.
That was the point I was trying (poorly) to make: those who throw bricks at him regarding how few races he won over the course of his career fail to take into account just how much he struggled that year, with little support from HRC in terms of developing the bike around him (vice developing a bike for the rider they were convinced - by Puig, mostly - was their future). Now, Dani is clearly a gifted rider, there is no denying that. I for one do not hold anything against him for Estoril '06 (I blame Puig for that). But Nicky's championship was a genuine uphill struggle against forces off the race course that he had no control over. I believe that is why he was so emotional once he claimed the title.
For this race the engineers have added BNG, I'm not clear on what that means, but am assured this gives a better feeling at the front.
I can ride ita pretty good, but is important to first pull the leathers out from my butt-uh crack-uh... Just a like Vale do. Then it is possible to push.

Nicky was the "development rider", Pedrosa was considered the future for Honda. While developing the bike FOR Pedrosa, he went and won the championship. Was like that the next year also.
