    Thanks for all the compliments, they are appreciated!

    I used Rustoleum gloss black enamel paint, just under 6 bucks at home depot. I went over the wheels with steel wool to clean them and create a little texture. In hindsight I wish I had used an etching primer, but I'm a bad combination of stupid and lazy :D

    Next I taped up the tires and spokes. This was the most time consuming part of project but it's worth it. Then I started spraying. Put on 4 coats I think. I'm really stoked with the results and think they look awesome!

    Building up the old bike for a serious adventure summer. It has over 60k on the clock (or so I imagine) and I plan to ride it for a few weeks straight this summer on the TAT.

    One of my maintenance items was to perform a Doo status update. Originally replaced it with EM's Doo in 2007 and the tight spring is now out of travel. Just purchased the torsion spring (to be installed soon), but for some reason the doo shaft is binding on the inner case. Not sure why. I sent this video to Eagle Mike and he'd never seen such a thing.

    <object width="425" height="240" ><param name="movie" value="https://cdn.smugmug.com/ria/ShizVidz-2011030702.swf" /><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /><param name="flashVars" value="s=ZT0xJmk9MTIyNTE3NDMwNSZrPUo5Z0NKJmE9MTYzMDI4ODRfYWZISjkmdT1EaXJ0eURvZw==" /><embed src="https://cdn.smugmug.com/ria/ShizVidz-2011030702.swf" flashVars="s=ZT0xJmk9MTIyNTE3NDMwNSZrPUo5Z0NKJmE9MTYzMDI4ODRfYWZISjkmdT1EaXJ0eURvZw==" width="425" height="240" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowFullScreen="true"></embed></object>

    With the inner cover removed, the doo works as designed. Any ideas? I'm thinking it must have just been grit causing some extra friction. Need to reassemble with fresh oil to be sure.

    Already upgraded the clutch to the EBC Dirt/MX heavy-duty clutch kit (easy swap).
    Added some bar risers too.

    Still to do:
    Brakes
    Drivetrain
    Fork seals & wipers
    Raising links
    Fork brace (maybe)

    Well of course it is the sport touring to go with the adventure/touring seat!
    I'm 5'8" and the shield does not put me in gold wing style still air, but compared to the stock
    Screen it is much better. The klrdash risers really did not appear to help at all compared to the screen alone at the stock angle. I have seen some of the other windscreens that grew much wider as well as taller, but then your looking through the shield and I dont like that. For now, I think this is as good as I will get without going to those extreme and large screens.

    Also, I ordered the dark tinted zero gravity, I wish they said on the web site that dark smoke is not able top be seen through!! It is black, and at my limited height, I am often forced to try to see through it as I crest a high spot in the road or crest a hill. I think I'll sale out and get the light smoke tint. Anyone want to trade? Lol.... Being short sucks because I love the look if the dark smoke on the black bike.
