Poor Maggie. I bet she is heartbroken. :cry First to lose out on marrying the man of her dreams and secondly to be proclaimed a Weapon of Mass Obstruction. How humiliating. :eek1

I wonder if she's busy making alternate wedding plans for somewhere in Alaska? It sounds like her groom, her true soul mate, may be somewhat reluctant to walk down the aisle with her. Therefore I want to offer kidnapping services for a slight fee. I can kidnap The Gregarious Geezer from Glennallen and arrange to deliver him to the wedding for a hefty ransom fee, enough for me to buy a few new farkles. :D

Actually, I was disappointed to learn about the wedding as I didn't know if Maggie would allow the Gregarious Geezer to go on any more rides with me. Think how boring the Geezer rides would be if he didn't have HayDee along to laugh at.... :lol3

Is this what is called being hacked, I am too old and senile to give a rats ass but even with a little hint of humour, it has not made me feel good.

I hate to interupt this off-topic BS with something semi-serious, butt..........

I'll be riding the Campbell on the 19th and 20th in the event anyone headed for Dawson wants to ride along. Will camp around Ross River the 19th. I'm not afeard to ride it alone but company would be OK too.

There's been a change and I won't be able to make it to D2D this year. It was probably karma for calling D2D a rally, even if I was just joking. At any rate, I wrote Goldrush and cancelled my dry tent site for the 20th and 21st. Get it before it's gone!

I hope you all have fun.

and I know - its not a rally.

    A couple of questions.

    say no reservation

    1) Is there likely to be any space at the govt campsite?
    2) Motels - totally booked?

    many thanks

There is a nice camp ground about two miles south of town on the west side of the Klondike Hwy. I've stayed there at least one nite for the past four D2Ds. I've never had a reservation and always got a space.

First timer to D2d leaving from Anchorage on my KLR. I will be leaving Anchorage sometime 15-18 June. Anyone want to join. Also, looking to upgrade to KTM/BMW adventure models. Anyone want to get rid of yours/partial trade?

    Cheers,

    Matt

Matt, I'm sure a group or 2 will be leaving ANY of those days. Just keep your eyes and ears open. I'll probably be leaving Wednesday the 19th from Palmer.
What's your route and time table? Quite a few of us (this is only my 2nd D2D) head to Tok and camp the first night at Thompson's Eagle Claw. Vanessa is THE BEST!!

I too will be leaving on the 19th. However, I'll be leaving from Soldotna that morning and am planning to stay at Mentasta Lodge. It is only 40 miles from Tok and $75 per night. I'll also be staying there on the return. maybe join a pack?
