I think my next airhead will hopefully be an R80ST as sweet as the one you converted to a GS (btw, what a cool headlight on the GS)!

Also am glad I clicked on your Seattle-TDF link; sure is inspiring.:thumb

PS: (Tnx to Mista Vern for the earlier compliment on my K-reno)

This is a fun thread. Sorry about the bad scans, but these were all pre-digital. . . . and scanned poorly.

'63 Tiger Cub built in my bedroom, and painted in the bathroom. No complete shot, but I rode it all summer, then it blew up 3 miles out of town, while heading out on a 7 hour trip to a rally. The crank was worn, and the replacement shaft wasn't available until two years later. Very common problem. Crank wears, lower oil pressure, dies. I thought I would get away with it. Oh well, many happy miles before it finally failed.

    Almost there.

Sorry, no before shot, but this was just a 'some assembly required' job, and not a restoration or rebuild. It was all there, minus a gearbox, and it all just needed to be put back together.

Ya the driveway does have a bit of a slope. I hadn't quit got the timing set right at the time and I didn't feel like trying to get it back up the driveway. Timing is now on and the bike runs great. Its fun seeing all the bikes being brought back from near death:D Looking forward to seeing more:clap

Before pics look much nicer than it actually was. Only had 9045 miles but the years of neglect had taken their toll.

It's a cop bike, thus the speedo only on the cross bar. Differs from the standard convert item in that it has each mph marked instead of 5 mph increments. Still has the radio/pursuit/flasher/siren switches too. It wasn't ever "pressed into service" though, so none of that equipment is on the bike. It should have a honking big squarish windshield but it was broken.

This is not a restoration and will irritate a number of members.

But I'm hapy and she regularly causes a big grin.

I agree the speedo look odd as is. I plan on adding a windshield (it's available from MGcycle) and see if it hides the speedo enough. I was lucky to get the bags and correct seat. The side covers were missing tho, that's why rusty/crusty replacements are on for now.

The fender rails are the bottom portion of the radio box mount. I'd love to find a box and the upper mounts but they are near impossible to find and spendy when they do surface. I'm going to cobble up something similar to the original and use it as a top case.

Thanks for the compliments. Hows your Guzzi that had all the crazy wiring/fairing/dash/add-ons coming along?
