Well since we're on the cusp of a sticky... I have VIN #2701 a 1981 G/S. Originally sold in Great Falls, MT by Spartan Cycles. I'm the second owner, but now she's a Canadian citizen.

GS Vin#3096 thanks to ZenBen. Just put 2,500 fun miles on her from Portland, OR back to Oklahoma City. I'm looking forward to many, many more miles to come.

0383 must be an early one.

Picked this one up recently. Im the third owner, original owner purchased it from the BMW factory in Germany and shipped it to Australia back in 81. Slowly putting her back together.

Vin 7793 came from Australia now in New zealand 86 R80g/s 75,000kms Fox shock, cycleworks muffler also have single seatand rack

I am the second owner of a 81 G/S that I purchased in 1984
I just replaced the center stand with a R80 ST stand.
The stock return springs for both the G/S and ST are too long.
I need return springs that are about 80mm long.
Can anyone tell me where I can get the proper center stand return springs?

It is, one of mine is 0387 and was complied 10/1980

Picked up #2126 yesterday in stock condition. I would send a picture but it's still in the back of the pickup and has to go for an inspection for title/serial # verification and will be living in Berea, Ohio. I just completed the R80G/S micapeak registery before entering the information here.

I've just purchased a 1981 R80 G/S. The tag expired in June 1990 and it has been sitting in a warehouse since then, started occasionally to make sure it still runs. It's being delivered to me in a couple of days, but here are a couple of pics of it when it was spotted by a friend of mine. Battery is missing, right turn signals and mirrors are gone, but he put in some fresh gas and it kick started right up.
