I first looked for longer clutch cables for the XR600 and there were none listed so I checked for the XR650l which is basically the same and they list the +3" cable.

Removing the dip stick while the engine is running is possible. There will be some oil spitting but nothing to terrible.

Yes , you can. Nothing will come out. You just cant add oil while running. This is how I check my oil . Running the oil is all where its supposed to be. Only a little air comes out.

Commiserations on having to selll the pride and joy, but you are going to have somthing really beautiful happen in your life soon...
    CONGRATULATIONS!!!!:clap:clap:clap

I had a 1987 XL600 RMG...top condition, original 19000KM which I sold when our first came along...15 years later, I still regret selling it, but I have an unreal family with two sort of well behaved teenagers, and getting back into my Hondas...

All the best, my brother, don't forget to hang out here occasionally.

alright dudes I need your help

I have a cutting out problem that is very substantial...

I cant imagine it being the stator again but damn...I went through all connectors and cleaned them up good...new kill switch and new headlight(im trying to sell the damn thing) but nobody is going to buy it if its cutting out so bad...

if its jetting then this damn mikuni is starting to give me the fits cause it was doing so good befiore...

the only substabtial change Ive done is put in a leaner 12.5 pilot it had the 17.5 before but it was harder to start and I had backfiring issues...

    what else could it be?

should I just jet the pilot fat again and call it good?

is the bike telling me NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO DONT SELL MY YOU UNGRATEFUL BIAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATCHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH? J

    geeze:D

You don't say when or at what RPM it's cutting out.

    Go fat or go home.

Well Steve, I just got off the phone with Joe from Motion Pro and he physically went and compared the OEM XR600 cable they had in stock with the #02-0219 cable that you recommended and they were the SAME LENGTH :huh:cry He did say for $40 + shipping he could custom make one 3" longer for me..........:eek1 So I'm back to square one now. Anyone else have another suggestion?

You can make your own cable with a kit from Venhillusa.com, I use them a lot for cafe racers. They are great quality and the outer sheath has an inner core made from teflon. The braided wire is galvanized so you can solder an end on with a standard soldering iron and silver solder.

    I hope this helps.

So what the hell do they sell for a longer XRL cable? I'll still stop by Friday as I am going down that way.
