Who sold that thing to you anyway :evil

Have you checked the 3 plugs under the tank on the right side?
That's usually where the problem is on those.

No power to anything is a good sign. Means there is one problem:
Break in a main power/ground line shared

Have you jumped the starter solenoid yet? Bet it turns over

This happened to my '07 while under power going up I-985. Turned out it was a short in the wiring harness but it took the fine folks at Pro Line to finally figure it out.. Wish I could be more specific, but all I know is that it was somewhere between the frame and gas tank just above the engine. Hope you get it sorted out!!

Are you SURE all fuses are good? Don't mean to insult your intelligence or anything, but did you check that main fuse in the holder on the harness right there at the battery?

    Good luck!

Hit Trey mountain today, and heading down from Trey Gap, we ran into this:

The tree is just about at the end of the gnarly section where the road smooths out a bit..

Thought we might have to turn back, but with a small folding hand saw, were able to clear out some of the smaller branches..

And with a few rocks to help..

It took all three of us, but we were able to muscle the KLR's over the log and get on our way! It is much steeper here than it looks! The tricky part was getting over the log and turning left at the same time..

So, if anyone head back up that way, be sure to take a chainsaw!

Thanks for posting this. Did you tell FS about the tree? If so I'll wait for them to come clean it up...haven't been to Trey in quite a while.

Had my 03 klr do that at a fuel stop. Turned out to be the battery. It would read 12.2 volts but it was just a "surface charge" . would not boost off, click just died. Put in a new battery & it never failed to start for the next 3 years.

It was this... what is the saying? KISS: keep it simple, stupid.

OK, my punctuation added. It was the battery. Simply blows my mind that I literally jammed out over 200 miles of freakin' crazy trails and some slab and it died COMPLETELY, when I tried to move it 2 feet in the parking lot of the hostel in Moab... lots of very clean contacts on my bike now, and I am way more familiar with KLR wiring and multimeters... not good, just familiar! :1drink:1drink:1drink:1drink:1drink
Thanks to everyone who wasted their time helping me... I said thanks?

    :D:D:D :clap

FS roads in the Cohuttas were awesome yesterday. Just the right amount of dampness to make the tracks really grippy. A little slick here and there, but I;d rather have that than dust. At the intersection of 22/Tumbling Creek and Old Hwy 2 I saw a couple of big DS bikes. I think I run into the same two folks between Copper Hill and Blue Ridge.

Yup! The dirt was grippy yesterday!

We ran local dirt roads up to the church then 28-1 to TWoS for lunch. First time I have had a chance to stop since it opened.

Then ran north to FS 35 over to Shallowford and out Stanley/Rock Creek and home.

    Dodged the rain all day!

    :clap
