Good job!, where did you end up getting the hard bags from? I might have to do something like this to my old GS750.

I got them at Carry Cases Plus.
They were around $50 each With free shipping. I have ammo cans on my 82 GS850.

nice build. i love mongrels like this.

are those the stock steel bars? i've bent enough to suggest replacing them with something stronger before heading up into the sticks?

Katana throttle cable is longer and first gen GSXR is longer.Longer brake lines can be had here.Just send a note letting George know how much length to add along with your old factory hose. http://katriders.com/vb/showthread.php?t=92494

Thanks for posting up on the tires.I'm looking to run something similar on my Lite Tourer project.

Pat put on a SS front brake line on it when I bought it,and we put on the longest one he had.She likes the bars but higher ones would make it easier to stand up on.

interesting. someday (when it'll be necessary) i want to run the tkc's on my sv650, and i also think i'll have to raise the front fender. your before and after pics don't really look like the knobby took up much more room.

Very cool build! One thing I see is the quick release pins on the bags are pretty exposed and potentially inviting to shady characters. A quick way to help keep honest people honest would be to cross drill the pin and use a mini luggage lock on the end instead of the spring hoop. I use them on my soft bags all the time.

I can't really see any difference from stock tire to the TKC!!.I can still fit my fingers between the fender and the tire just like stock.
