Ya we can put a few pop bottles on the back of my bike for ya, whats a few extra pounds on the girl she has the power . Yup was talking to Weldit today and good for Saturday where ever the trail may lead. But not a early early start please 9 am ish? gives me a bit of time to have a few for the road . It is open to who ever wants to come pots away and we can meet where ever .
SOUNDS GOOD WE ALL WANT TO RIDE .JUST FIGURE OUT WHERE AND MEETING PLACE AND TIME AS FOR GAS IF I COULD USE THE BACK BAG ILL BRING 1 GAL. WOULD BE GREAT THANKS STEP.NEW TIRE ON YET ?
NP for the gas and yes the new tire is on and ready for some wear and tear. Found out that i bent the rear disc brake but seem to have it sorted out. Going to get a new sprocket though old one getting worn, maybe one more ride out of it As for where?? are we going you and Weldit decide and we can go from there. I am a sheep bah bah follow follow, unless you want me in the front?
wow some good rain here, we need it. Does this make the swamp a bigger swamp to go swamping in? , or do we find a lake and just swamp the bikes there and get it over with..
Which day are you guys riding? Tryin to make this but i've got relatives comin up fri-mon....might get free for a few hours.
if sat is a all day rain event then I would be ok with sunday the weather channel is looking like sun will be the end off rain??? the last ride was good as the morning rain kept the dust down I was down the Nipissing rd on mon on the 990 and a twist of the throttle made the whole road disappear in one massive dust cloud ! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- alternate route to forgotten trail: if you don't mind a little exploration and mystery trail conditions I can take us out trail to Williamsport then logging roads (unknown cond.) to another trail to logging roads (logged several years ago) out to rain lake rd behind Kearney and trail west or head north by Tim lake/ Big Bob lake to Kents mill rd. this is mostly gravel rd and comes out at Burks Falls. (awesome ride in fall colours) probably a 4 hr ride - depending on trail condition & amount of stops? I don't know about you but a 2 hr ride is always 4 hrs - oh well - better than workin! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- its tough to link up a bunch of trails without some road sections but if the roads are gravel it's a bit better. -------------------------------------------------------- I don't have any idea on Ahmic trail - sore knee compatible ?? The Nipissing rd/ Forgotten trail is mostly dirt road from where we stopped last time north to Rye and out to Commanda - still a fun ride but we should take an alternate path back to throw a bit of spice in the ride. The north part of the Forgotten trail on the map (dotted line) is pretty wild and was flooded in '08 - today ?????- lets look? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ too many decisions - sometime it's just best to just go that way and follow yer nose
look here north off rye road at 90 degree corner to east - see a trail? not sure which one of the swamps is the one we got to in '08 on my back roads map it has a dotted line at least cool photo shots anyway............ http://maps.google.com/?ll=45.890486,-79.621353&spn=0.08065,0.154324&t=h&z=13
actually the google maps don't show some trails that I know are there still cool to play with -I still like a paper map!!! ------------------------------------------------------------- A shorter ride would be the d-trail south of Sprucedale to Ashworth hard to link anything but backroads through Hekla / Bearcave road and back to 518 I like this trail as its a 10k section with some decent riding and a bit of mud. --------------------------------------------------------------------- so far this is CLEAR AS MUD - and I am willing to ride anywhere!
little lost lamb looking to follow anyone into the big bad forest where ever this weekend, sat or Sun. As long as there is a cold beer after then bring on the ride. Sounds like you have been everywhere around here so you lead i follow. Back road to no road to hell and back all good
Sounds good to me, just let me hop on your bike for a bit then and i will go through any SPECIAL spot .
this is the "dotted line" on the backroads map that I was talking about we stopped where the other dotted line ends at bottom of frame a short rip north on Rye rd and right turn - but map shows trail straight north also looks like it crosses a creek 1/2 way - hummm? this the flooded spot we hit in '08?
Here is the way to break in a new Trackmaster nothing like a trip across "MUD FLATS" only 5 min from Novar
Be careful the Swamp creature doesn't attach it self to your bike Nothing like a "soaker" to start a ride off !
well if the water gets deep i will bring some water wings for the bike . Or try that water crossing at high speeds to skim across the top.Not sure about the pic but is that the Seguin trail?? if so you must have had a day permit right
I tried to find this trail last year as it showed on my gps. i ended up in a really eary deserted settlement, couldnt find a way through, there was four wheeler tracks that headed to the east up through a logging project but nothing in the direction that the gps showed the trail as beeing. as soon as i saw some funny looking plants i made tracks outa there! I met an old guy back to the north of there who said he was hiding from the government as they where all after him because his wife went crazy. He used to remember a trail through there but couldnt remember were it was. make sure you dont run out of gas around there!
