Don't pay any attention to the stupid colors or the little wheels in the ad, that's just to show you what you *can* get. I used to have a plain white one mounted to the rear of my '85 KLR600 and it worked great.

Sometimes you just want a flatbed.

If you find one made from metal, sign me up. I used to have one that was wire mesh (real antique). The thing was indestructable and not TOO heavy. but it got lost a long time ago.

But milk crates are completely free and come with the satisfaction of civil defiance.

Cabela's makes some nifty stuff geared toward ATVs if you want to stay legal and get farther from free.

I'm not making fun of milk crates, only the barbaric trade of their flesh for currency. I was fortunate enough to liberate a forest green crate among the red and orange from the alley behind Krogger and give it a taste of freedom. I only wish I could have saved them all. I commuted/toured for a couple years on a $1100 KLR with this milk crate and one of those screw lid 5 gal buckets in the crate for stuff I didn't want wet. It proved to be an indestructable, reliable companion. I have since sold myself into corporate slavery and I am currently indentured to a 1150GS.

Do you have "Hostess" cake where you live?

If so talk to your local driver. They use a wire mesh tray in their trucks and

who knows, one might fall out the back door...... :lol3

I meant metal AND folding, like the original link. I have a few of the old metal milkcrates, but I really want the expandable metal style.

I had one complete with wheels and telescoping handle. Picked it up at staples or office max.

Now they seem to only have plastic ones.

Always thought have a flat bed that can assembly into a trunk would be kinda slick.

something else neat, is this, which goes around an "ugly" milk crate....unsure how it'd hold up against the sun/rain, day in and out.

Ther was a guy probably in his 60s that rode a DR 650 around town, he always wore a styrofoam bicycle helmet and had a milk crate fixed to the back of his bike for his little dog to ride in.

I'm think'n it was kinda cool that his jack russel would ride with him.

Some things are not right...vstromtom, like my wife loosing her job 3 yrs ago just after we built a new house. Milk crate was free and it toted several hundred $'s worth of food from the grocery store. Sometimes you do what you gotta do. Now I can go with something different, so I'm asking around. So stop in again for another swing at me, anytime.
For the other with the DR...at least the blue matches the bike!
    I've decide on a motech rack http://www.twistedthrottle.com/trade/productview/228/89/
and quite possibly, since I'm redoing my '02 LC4 in orange (orig. red) I may just keep the ole plastic crate and put this around it...

One day on the way to work i kept hearing ping.......ping...........ping......... finally saw a spark, crate still had one bunge hooked and was bouncing off the pavement every so offen:eek1
