Sorry but I can't help but wonder -If the point is to be, "less exposed to the elements" then why not stay home, drive a cage...?

    A bit like THIS?
The MkI version of my trailer. Piano hinge at the front. Idea was to have a 600mm foldout floor extension at the back with fold-out supports, or legs. With the shell at 45°; lightweight canvas deploys to rear with standup height at end.

I've since changed the trailer to its MkII configuration, but a variation of the -above- shell with opening canvas could still be a swap-over option. The shell would require a 140mm high lower sideboard addition (above the mudguards) as the trailer frame is presently 16mm narrower.

This rig makes regular appearances at the Elfantentreffen in Thurmansbang. It's an airhead sat on a mobec chassis with all 3 driven wheels. Because of the Mobec chassis it's quite tall and imposing but it handles the snowy, hilly campsite with ease, going where even the two-wheel drive Urals struggle.
It's a practical machine, not a show bike but someone put one hell of a lot of work into it.

    I'd buy it!

I have one and yes I got a good bit of condensation BUT......... I do admit it has plenty of venting options........ with vents that can be opened or shut as well as a little unzip or not of the four doors so it is only my fault. Just got to experiment with the best combination with the environment of the day
Now comfort of the way the cot sags...... my back hated it. Again though think it's tweak-able and I plan to experiment with that for sure.

    Red's link.

And a latter day version with the charming couple that Red' shared (@4.50's), only they are somewhat older. Funny how that works :scratch.

Here's one I found a while back that could be adapted to SC use. His feet stick out in the fabric part that folds in.[IMG]

Actually, not a bicycle - that's my wheelchair. When my wife was with me (she flew out and met me in Seattle and did a bit over 3,300 miles in WA, OR, & CA) the wheelchair was mounted on the trailer. When I was alone the wheelchair was stowed in the sidecar. No kayak - just her riding gear and my camping stuff. Had an amazing trip - hope to add some pictures and a few details at a later date if anyone would be interested.
