My little secret stash and crash bar mods..

Have a look and let me know what you think.

I wanted to accomplish two things.
    1) Add some strength to the known weak sub frame.
    2) Add some storage but keep the twin exhaust look.

I know, gutting a Remus its a expensive way to add storage but I really wanted to keep the look of the twins!
Basically I installed the 2-1 adapter pipes and took the guts out of my Remus, caped both ends, took the rivets out and made some "fake" rivets, welded some nuts to the end cap so I could use a thumb type fastener to remove it.

Works great for tools, tubes, water bottle, fuel bottle, or whatever other secret stash you like to smuggle. All in all I think it turned out great. You should see the looks I get from my buddies on the trail when I take apart my exhaust system and bull out a fresh footlong sub!!

I bent up the crash bars to help protect the Remus cans and add some strength to the weak subframe. Also works great for soft bags and tying other gear. Next time I will spend a little more time cleaning up my welds but I think they turned out great for first time prototype!

Yeah I made the racks, I have used them for mounting some extra fuel packs. I will try and get some pic of that as well. Basically I just made the attach points so I could use them for mounting additonal accessories. (not really sure what yet, other then fuel packs). They also work great for soft bags and help keep the bags off the heat of the exhaust system.

The paint looks a little off because of the dust, but it is actually a very good KTM Orange powder coating on it.

$59.95 WOW that is too cheap for me, these things are too much work!!
If I get 6 guys that want them I will make them for $149.95 a set.

Oh, and on the subframe, yeah I reworked mine and added some strength it is as well.

    Sounds good.
I know this is not going to be a big qty money maker for me but, so far I have a 3-5 people that want a set, if I get a few more I will make a jig and get some made.

I would be up for a set in black as well. Very nice looking. Do they work with the stock hand grab rails?
