So, I'm out riding "Scenic Highway 7" last Sunday and... It was actually quite beautiful... Nice that there wasn't any traffic to deal with... This isn't fog laying in a valley, I'm actually up in the clouds... I was at an elevation of about 2,200 feet... Coincidentally, the cloud ceiling was about 2,000 feet!!! Here's three from Queen Wilhelmina State Park last fall... Same deal... I'm up on a mountain, in the low cloud layer... Rode the entire length of Talimena drive in conditions like this that day!!! :eek1 Who has some fog pix ???
Queen Wilhelmina State park is the worst fog I've ever encountered. Obviously I've played around with this pic. I couldn't see the road (the Talimena Parkway?) looking straight down at my feet.
And on the other Coast... Mattole Road, heading toward the Lost Coast from Ferndale. Straight ahead into the murk gets you to Cape Mendocino in a few miles, going left here and taking the next right leads to the top of Bunker Hill. The top of the hill, in the clouds. When it's clear you can see north as far as Crescent City, and I've had many a lunch stop here when the weather was friendlier. Mattole Road, a few miles south of Capetown. Nice on the deck, cloudy above, typical Lost Coast scenery.
Not much to see in a fog thread Newfoundland fog was hiding all the moose, so I cooked breakfast 'till it cleared a bit... <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/antontrax/2862468291/" title="Maritime-1200991-354.jpg by antontrax - Motojournalism, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3097/2862468291_e2afdd77af_z.jpg" width="640" height="360" alt="Maritime-1200991-354.jpg" /></a> <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/antontrax/2863300788/" title="Maritime-1200994-355.jpg by antontrax - Motojournalism, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3243/2863300788_3b3b1eb574.jpg" width="281" height="500" alt="Maritime-1200994-355.jpg" /></a>
