I can't understand all these repaints. Mine yesterday: Ride Report here: http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?p=15802186#post15802186
Well some paint scheme's are just plain ugly. I can't stand the 95's or all the faded red to pink. I wouldn't touch your scheme though. I like it!
For that reason the 95's are cool. No one liked them, "The Barbie Bike". My brother has one, I keep telling him NOT to paint it. He needs both side plates to put it back to stock. It sure stands out in a crowd of KLR's.
Ugh, my eyes! Maybe it's the 96 I really don't like. Kind of a green/navy with gray seat. I don't care if someone else is riding one, you just won't see me on one, at least not for long. LOL

My 2003 'c' model Before: Now Has a 'A' model tank, staintune & Ricor Intiminators (this bike with another (scary fish) were the first C models to trial these for Ricor) Coming soon will be some Pivot Pegs, BarkBusters and a Ricor rear shock.
Considered it, but I do either cold or wet, not cold/wet. You don't want to be around me when I'm cold/wet and grumpy.
I picked up this '09 with low mileage and already wired for Garmin and Gerbing late last summer after beating up my 1150 GS on some trails well above my skill level. Have worked on getting her road ready over this past nasty Cleveland winter and now during the monsoon spring we are having. Here's how she looked when I got her: ... and a couple weeks ago .... I have since sold the Kawi saddlebags to a fellow advrider inmate and have added Ranger Dirt Bagz and an EM fork brace. My new fender should arrive tomorrow. My farkle wish list is getting smaller as is my bank account while my '02 Road King and "04 GS are gathering dust! I expect to do the doo and add a thermo-bob along with braided brake lines next winter - for now I just want to log some miles already!
Just finished my project bike "Blackie". It's a 2002, was faded green, and now..... Done for 2 days and I had an offer to buy it already.
i have enjoyed seeing everyones klr's here, some gave good ideas. my experience with this bike has been truly satisfactory. i have raced it, toured it and commute on it. it has been my winter bike, too. although i did lots of changes and improvements, i equally enjoyed doing them and have learned a lot from that...my philosophy with the klr (and a buddy recently bought one) is 'just ride the thing' i know i have some better photos...
In that picture of you laying under your bike.... that would be miserable! The rest of the day your gonna be squishing water out of your boots... your clothes stuck to you..... yuck!
