    Hello Adv-riders,

Thank your for a great forum and for the information sharing. I have been lurking on this site for over a year and I always look if there's any new pictures in this thread.

So I guess I have to do the same as you guys and show some pictures of my GS.
I ordered it in Mach and got it first of May.
5343 Miles and one back tire replaced in two months.

    Setup:
    ESA
    ASC
ABS and Heated grips (Standard in Europe)
    TPM
    Computer
    Crashbar
    Spoke weels
    Aluminum cylinder head protectors
Akra slip-on (Gonna upgrade to Akra 2-1-2 race system or a new Y pipe (not Remus))
Tinted windscreen (Why did I pay for that?)
    Chrome pipes
    Large hand protectors
    Offroad foot pegs
K&N (Actually does not do any good since the cat is still on, but not for long...)
    Hex Head oil plug
ZUMO 550 (Europe NT + Friluftskartan PRO)
BMW Small Tankbag (If you are going to use a map, buy another one)
    BMW Sport Softbage, Large

I am very happy with the bike, but I get EWS fever when on longer solo offroad trips (got no spare antenna ring) and I could live without the buffering.

Onroad in Skane (without the cylinder head protectors)

Offroad in a skislope - got stuck just below the remaining snow for one hour. Got to dig the bike out by hand.

Offroad in Dalarna - I followed this trail into the woods for a couple of hours, all I ever saw was trees and rocks. Beautiful to me.

View from the cockpit - Handguards are removed when its hot
    [IMG]

Ready to go for a weekend trip (those dark skies behind the house made the weekend wet, very wet)

    Nice machine! :thumb

If I were to guess, I'd say your ESA is set to off-road mode. :nod It seems to be riding high... The ESA is pretty neat, isn't it? I change the setting on mine all the time. There is considerable difference in the various modes.

I agree with you, the ESA is worth every penny. I alos change settings depending on the surface. As you say there is a considerable differense in the various modes, and if you forget to change you will notice pretty soon :nod. The more I get used to ESA the more I like it.

    SWEGS,
I'm real curious how you like your tail bag? Is it truly waterproof? Does it stay put? How hard to remove?

    Great bike by the way!

    Hello Dave,

I really like the bag so far. The inner bag is 99% waterproof to my experience (perhaps I did something wrong zipping it up that rainy weekend), so the next wet trip I will have all the important stuff packed in plastic bags. The two outer pockets are not waterproof.
You can compress the bag to fit what you pack. But if it's not really loded the compression will hide the BMW Motorrad logo (dammit, that's what I paid for :lol3 )
You get three different length sets of attachment belts (12 pcs) with the bag to use depending on where you want to fit the bag. For the setup in the pictures I use Medium and Small.

It's easy to snap it on or off, but when you ride without it you have to remove the belts och tie em togehter (see pict "Offroad in Dalarna").

haha, kinda. its resting on the passenger foot pegs. holds tight, doesn't even budge. had it to 90mph on in empty road and nothing moved.

i also have hauled my guitar, a set of golf clubs, and my rifle. haha. i got to start taking more pics of this stuff to post.

next on the list, i want to make a hitch and trailer to pull a canoe! then i'll really be set!:D

    gota love the bungie nets!

Hi from OZ, i sorta went tropo up here in Cairns and changed my 2007 Rock Red Beemer.Painted the silver side panels red and the black panels Silver.I reckon its a big improvement on the standard appearance - plus i can now tell it apart from my mates bike :)
Also splashed out and got some Wilbers,a Staintune plus hooked up an autocom and put on a Ztechnik screen to reduce the buffeting.

    Hi all from Germany
    :norton

being inspired from Mr. Huber Tuber´s post #1551 (http://www.advrider.com/forums/showpost.php?p=4264225&postcount=1551)
I decided to buy a "normal" 1200GS instead of the "ADV"-model and pimp it to the ADV-look.

it was a stock 2004 GS in yellow pimped with:
    - colour changed to alpine-white
    - R1200-ADV-tank-sticker
    - ADV-style crashbars
    - ADV-windshield w/ flaps
    - ADV-beak
    - BOS exhaust
    - Garmin Zumo 550

    Here is what I´ve got:

realizing that an italian cell-phoning-car-driver pushed my left bag apart :cry

The biggest advantage compared to the "real" ADV is the lower weight.

I´m planning to upgrade this little lady with a Wilbers or Oehlins suspension-unit, then I´m done.
...well, maybe the white Instrument-plates may lie under the christmas-tree...who knows... :freaky

    Comments welcome :ear

    Hallo Chatterbot.
    Nice one !
you could paint in black the 2 side panels where GS is embossed.
if you have the opportunity, grap some black spoke wheels.
and your idea about the new shocks.... yes ! excellent idea.
I put ohlins on mine but the one for the GSA. higher.
I've a really different bike now. better, really.

Vielen dank for the pictures.... I planned to paint mine like yours.
