Would you strap this 4' bag sideways on the bike?

    Eh, probably not, but maybe!

If I'm on the bike I can usually explore and find two trees or other structure to hang from.

Interested in the hand warmers and looking for more information on them. Are they lined? Water resistant or proof? Fit over a set of barkbuster storm guards? Send me a PM with the information. For a Tiger 800XC

Yes they are lined, My multi- above has barkbusters on it. They are top notch. Have not used them in a rain yet. I would guess- very water resistant.

    Hand warmers are fleece lined.

The official response to water resistance/proofness is that they are highly water resistant. The manufacturer of Cordura won't say 100% water proof. Someone earlier on this thread did claim that after a couple hour ride in the rain that they did not let water in.

They will fit over the barkbuster guards.

I'll update the first page to get that info more clearly listed.

    Thanks!

The following dimensions and image might help to know what I have in mind:

    Pannier 2 - 14 1/2" L x 11 1/2" H x 7 1/2" expandable to 10 1/2" D

my favorite bit of cordura from the 70s. Sits on top of my Zega bags and Velcros across the back for easy access. Originally called the U-2 bag.

I put all the light stuff in it. I can carry a larger sleeping bag over the Zega bag and another stuff sack on the other side with my clothes. Across the back my kermit chair and another blanket.
