So, this is how to make your same old same blinkers work as emergency flashers.. At a very low cost, and easy to make. I´ve done this on my latin Honda CBF250, and I´m planning on doing it on my old NX250.. [Tutorial] Emergency Flashers Good roads!
Will this work on any bike? Been looking to do something like this on my KTM 950. This would be perfect..
yep, those mini universal flasher switches are available for like $3 shipped from ebay and many online electronics outlets. Or, if you already have a switch lying around simply mate the left and right signal wires then click on either your left or right turn signal. voila. while you're at it convert your rear signals to running lights.
So all I have to do for the install is Hook the wires on the side to the Front L and R signal wires and the middle to the Flasher Relay? Will just hooking to the Front turn signals work the back one also? Also what is involved with turning the rear signals to running lights? I was thinking about just buying 4 LED light strips and add a flasher module with an entire different switch for flashers. But your idea seems better if it works on a KTM. Seems like I have read that to turn the signals on a KTM into hazards you had to replace bulbs with LED's or something like that? Any idea?
Not necessarily, but I know that if the LEDs you install work on lower voltage, then they will blink faster.. They work normal when you use the OEM 6V bulbs
For incandescent running lights you generally have to have a 2 contact socket and bulb. For LED, the unit has to be made for it. Years back I had an electronic gadget that converted my one contact rear turn signals to running lights by running them at reduced wattage until you needed them for turn signals. Don't recall the brand though.
