We're working on adding more icons, as well as the ability to upload your own. In the meantime, I've seen people using the fence icons as RR tracks. You can also rotate and resize all the icons. Dave
Duke, Are we on the right track with the new changes re: no auto-save and version history? I think this takes care of that accidental save problem, as well as providing a safety net. Dave
Yes! Great stuff, Dave! I was playing with it this morning; Working well for me so far. Tomorrow night, I'm off to verify some big roadbooks I've been working on for awhile.
Duke: Be sure to capture your tracks from your pre-run. Also, drop waypoints in your gps as needed along the way. The GPX track and WP overlay feature is a huge help when making corrections after a pre run. You can also export the GPS tracks from Navigator to your Gps to lay out your pre-run. It will export directly into the MapSource software. We will be adding a filter to automatically filter your track to 500 track points (the max a Garmin gpsmap60 will handle) Let us know how it works out. Thanks!
Is it just me that is unable to see the GPX Import option once a Route is started? From the directions: Use the "Import GPX" button in the Roadbook field and search for the GPX file on your local computer. Import this file to Rally Navigator. I don't see this currently. The only button I see is the GPX Overlay button once I go back into a route I have already created. Thanks!
That is correct. "Import GPX" is used to create a new route from your GPS track. At the moment, we only allow this once, as a way to create a new route. Once the route is created, only the "Overlay GPX" is allowed. In the future, we will likely allow more flexibility. Dave
Dave, Maybe I'm just being slow today (maybe it is every day....) but, I don't recall ever seeing it as an option. Even before creating a route.... On another note, I have been trying to resist buying all the roadbook gear just cause I'm so far away from all the races and won't really get to use it that much. This darn program is going to cause me to make a large purchase in the near future. I can't wait to properly ride the route I am creating. Thanks.......
Good eye, Uller! We moved that feature to the "premium" feature list, but I forgot to let the beta users have access to it. I'm deploying that fix now, along with a couple other minor changes. Dave

The fence works fine as RR Track. Maybe just an RR crossing icon in "signs"? There are already a ton of icons in in land marks and my laptop screen is basically at capacity
I have a perpetual loading sitch. The screen remains like this for as long as i can stand it, and every 10 minutes asks if I want to save, but..... I'm running on my laptop Win7 FF21.0 GE 7.1.1.1580 On my desktop: XPPro FF21.0 (probably) GE7.1.1.1580(probably) not at home to confirm. It worked to create the routes, now I can only view or edit the first two of four I created, "unamed roadbook" and "Herlong to Estates". i have two more both were created from copies of "Herlong to Estates" and niether will load anymore. On either computer. They do have alot of points... perhaps hundreds. But it's not more than 170 and 83 for the other. Waypoints for both are 29. I'd like not to lose the route of course. A few hours have gone into them.... J
With version history, you won't lose anything, so don't worry. This appears to be a simple loading bug. I'll fix it ASAP. BTW, this is why we ditched auto-save. Auto-save could make a loading problem result in an auto-save that wipes things out. Dave
fixd indeed. Thanks so much for the work, the site, and attention to detail. Invaluable resource for us!!
Inmates: It looks like we are a GO for printing Roadbooks on roll feed printers: These are test books for the Reno Rally Navigation Ride... Need to adjust the layout, margins etc. We will have 5 inch wide printed images with 1/4 inch margins on both sides. 5 inch header and tails included for getting them taped up in a road book holder. Plan: Reno Rally Pre-Run on Saturday...get the final versions to the printer Monday. I'll share more pics and details after we have the final products in hand...
