We wanted to give those passes around Telluride a shot when we were up there in July but it seemed to rain everyday, and with our limited off road experience we deemed it too risky. Especially with having to ride the bikes the 900+ miles back to Austin! I've been up through there and on Black Bear with 4 wheelers, the scenery is fantastic.

Yeah - he's happy he doesn't have to help pick up a GS.

My old Bogpig, somewhere in NY on the edge of the 'Daks.

And the aftermath. I'd spent so much time (~3 hours) stuck in the bog with the FD breather underwater, I had to flush the oil several times to get all the water out.

It looks like you had just the tires for going through that kind of obstacle :rofl

I'm not sure a skidder could have made it through to where I was aiming, nevermind a GS with Anakees.

Ah, well. We live and we learn. I've since started carrying a comealong and recovery gear when I'm headed somewhere questionable.

Here's a some teasers from a recent trip out to Moab with a couple day detour through Colorado. We were able squeeze in Marshall Pass, Engineer Pass, and the Lockhart Basin portion of the UTBCDR before hitting Moab for the 2012 ARC and Trophy qualifier.

Huge thanks to DrewCrew, Sean from Colorado, Ryan Frazier, Jason Houle and Mick Williamson for making all this happen and taking the pictures.

After successfully climbing a gnarly hill, as I was turning around I decided the old pig could use a nap.

Oh, it was raining. Wet granite, gotta love it. It was more a drizzle. There are a couple of spots that I came down fairly hard on the skid plate. Engineer pass is not for the faint of heart.

That is a battery I use to run my HID MTB light and 7CS gps. If I recall, I had not yet wired the gps to the bike, so I was using that battery in the meantime. I'm glad I had the rig on that trip, I was stuck in that rut until well after dark.

That's impressive riding with a ton of steel like that. Are there any more pictures?
