I have to meet a customer up in Mt. Storm on Monday. Thought I would take the bike on Sunday and enjoy the ride. Any route recommendations? Mt. Storm is just North of Monongahela Nat'l Forest, I could just run 33 all the way to 28 at Monkeytown and right up through Seneca Rocks and Spruce Knob but I wanted to see if there are any favored routes. This will be my first ride out that way.

All the roads out there are great. Lots of good dirt roads too.

This is nice fun little paved road. http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&sou...8.938582,-78.958397&spn=0.22485,0.528374&z=12

I enjoy the "lane and a halfs" that are all over WV, mostly all chip gravel.

Anyone have any suggestions on "breaking in" some leather gloves? I had to replace my tourmaster heated gloves back late winter and the new ones are really stiff.

Thanks for the GS Adventure advice guys.It was very helpful. :clap

On another note, that rider in Moscow is one unexpected lane change or turn from being a statistic. :eek1 His considerable skills would be better spent on a track.

One stretch, Rte. 42 out Scherr is one of my favorite stretches. Very twisty up hill ride.

Have you treated them with a leather preservative?

Red Wing shoes have some oil that I like very much. It softens leather very well, and adds some water repellancy.

I use it even on my boots/shoes with GoreTex liners.

Holy smokes! I kept waiting for the horrific crash to end the video! That dude should sign up for the Isle of Mann TT if he's that comfortable hauling a$$ inches from stopped cars and trucks!

I haven't.. I just pulled them out this morning for the fist time since last winter and had a heck of a time coming to work. I read up on it some and it looks like neatsfoot oil supposed to help soften things up??

Yes, neatsfoot oil is good stuff. The leather conditioning oil that Red Wing sells is neatsfoot oil with some man-made oils mixed in I think.

Also, Mink Oil is good, but I don't think it softens the leather as well as neatsfoot. However, mink oil is a better water-proofer.

Absolutely, especially when treating gloves - It's dual purpose: Supples up the leather and treats arthritis.... all with one application. :nod

Why don't you FF'ers ride down to the WIlliamsburg Jamestown Airport for the Vintage Motorcycle Gathering. Starts at 10A. Also the local Ruritan is holding a Poker run for charity and its the 40 th Anniversary of the Airport, so there should be lots of aircraft flying in and out. Helo rides, etc...Bikers will park in the 2 lots in the front of the Building 2 lots back. You'll see signs for my event (Vintage) and for the Poker run folks. Vintage event usually peaks around 1130-1200p

Busy Sunday, but I'm thinking about taking a day off during the week. I've never ridden up Reddish Knob, so I'm thinking about headed there. Looking at Tuesday - maybe.
