I might as well post a picture of my 1975 R60/6 which I bought a few years ago because price was right and I figured I could use some of the parts from it on my 1974 R75/6 (rear drive, tranny, gas tank and seat). It's got a broken timing chain but other than that it's pretty decent. I haven't had the heart to cannibalize it for parts primarily because it is complete and more importantly, I haven't had the need for the parts yet. It's kind of amazing to me (and even more so to my wife)how I got bitten by the airhead bug. Eight years ago, for reasons still unclear to me, I somehow developed a strong desire to get an airhead. I ended up getting a Honda 450CL instead as a way to get back into riding after a 20 year spell of no bike. Now I've got 5 in the garage (two ridden on a regular basis - my 1974 R75/6 and my 1991 R100GS- the others not operable) and one in the shed. My 1972 R60/5 restoration project (my first BMW) is about 75% complete but languishing due to lack of time (if I'm not riding I'm doing the ongoing maintenance on the ones I do ride). Feel free to let me know if you think I should seek professional help for my addiction.[IMG]

Umm, i think what you're asking is like a mental hospital patient getting counselling from another patient....personally I don't see that you have a problem!!

I have several airhead projects in various states of disassembly, and more than enough spares to further assemble at least two more airheads. My R90S has been finished and running for 2 1/2 years but before that it was in bits for 14 long years.....I pulled the toaster R75/5 apart almost six months ago, and at the rate i'm going it'll be at least another six months before it's anywhere near finished & running again. The R90/6 is still in bits too. Besides my crap, i'm also storing a '74 R90S in bits for a mate, and a '77 R100S in bits for another mate.

Personally, i don't smoke or drink, and live an otherwise modest lifestyle. My wife knows where I am and what I'm doing, and I don't let activities in the shed interfere with family life. Fortunately my wife rides too....

Hi Joe, It's outside the church at Breedon on the Hill --> http://www.le.ac.uk/emoha/leicester/breedon.html

I used to shoot at Hemlock. Nice round there.

Metzler Enduro 1's. Nice and cheap and still available. They're the original fitment for the g/s and were designed for the bike, they work really well apart from getting a big vague around 100 Mph - doesn't happen often enough for it to be a concern though.

Just rigged up and installed some Korean war vintage Navy ammo cans as panners. Watertight but really heavy.
