Rick's Rendezvous 2013, May 15-19, Hampton, TN

Final test run of my "Big bikes Trail ride" today. I ran the section where I lost my skid plate last week (and oil). Only thing I forgot was that it rained very hard through here last night. Damn was that trail slick!
Should be good for Saturday. We've had a few hard rains lately and the paved roads are thoroughly washed clean of the winter sand and salt. Weather should be excellent! We're going to have a blast!!!!

Funny, just looking at weather. High 50's to high 70's and 30% to 70% chance of rain depending on the web site you look at. Is that big bike trail ride going to be a knobbie thing if it rains?

What site are you looking at? Weather Channel says 10%,10%, 30%, 30%. Haven't seen anything about a 70% chance and the lows were all in the 60's.

We're having a "frost warning" tonight & tomorrow night, but then things will warm up. Ray's Weather says Boone will have a hi 76/ lo 54 on Wednesday and 75/54 on Thursday. Hampton, TN should be a tad bit warmer. Looks perfect to me.

I'm all set to arrive Wednesday afternoon. Who is riding Thursday?

Oh, and Cuttle: bringing my WR in my pickup so add me to that list.

Given limited space, does that mean bringing a 10x10 shelter in addition to a tent is a bad idea?

it all depends how you set it up... if you build a fort, a homestead, a moat and walls: yes. if you put it between two tents it's fine.

are you packing it on your bike?

Packing it on the bike yes. Likely JakeMountain and I will be neighbors, thus we can put it between us. I'll need a little distance from him anyway....

Probably will not need knobbies. We'll help pick up the fallen. If for some odd chance it rains the day of the ride, we'll skip the technical stuff. It's all about fun!

The Mindless Wandering Ride may take place after all.

A new throttle position sensor has been ordered and should be arriving at the Triumph dealer tomorrow morning, which leaves a Tuesday night/Wednesday thrash fest to get my crap running (waiting to the last minute as usual). If I run out of time, I can work on it on the trailer while Ducky drives!
