RB button that also makes a voice recorded file (button holding down) attached to that RBpoint. (GPSdated) with BT helmet set.
    Or/and
making a file Voicenotepoint VNpoint (GPSdata) new VN button

For collecting easy Roodbookinformation, but keeps the hands on the bar.
No pencil writing, saves a lot of time. Spoken a lot more info.
No taken out extra tools out of bags.

Must be cheap, the cheaper the more people can make easier collect info for roadbooks. Common components.
The more roadbooks we can ride.

    What you get:
    1. RBpoint track with RBpoints with VN ( holding down RB button is recording voice). Track set also on: meter or second wheeldistance data tracking. Reeditble afterward.
    2. VNpoint track with VNpoints, VN button holding down. voice notes
    3. GPS track.

That's in the works already, with a lot more features! It's not cheap though. If you want cheap, buy I basic digital voice recorder ($15) like I use for making roadbook notes while prerunning. I took this one and rewired the switch for handlebar mounting. I originally had it mounted in my helmet, but it didn't work so well there. Engine noise can be a problem, so it's sometimes best to let the revs go down or stop while you speak.

That iPhone app looks pretty good! But the video doesn't show how of if you can get the GPS tracks and waypoioints out of the phone and into a computer.

Of course it comes right after I already bought this GPS logger / voice recorder:

I'll be testing the Columbus unit next weekend while doing some diabolical rally prerunning in Mexico.

    came across this.
    http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/User:Stoecker

    How it works:

    • Turn on GPS receiver
    • Turn on voice recorder (in continous recording mode - no voice activation)
    • Press GPS-button and say "Start" at the same time
    • Now drive and press the button wehener something interesting comes - talk at the same time about what it is
    • When finished download data as GPX and as WAY file
    • Open GPS file in JOSM
    • Press right mouse on the GPX layer and choose menu point to load audio file
    • start audio playback until you hear "Start" text, then stop it (both using the dot on keyboard)
    • Press right mouse on the audio layer and choose option to synchronise data
    • Now the markers at the map are synchronised with the sound and entering data can start

    Works fine. Really.

JOSM is a openstreetmap editor, but you can use it also to make your own tracks, poi etc.

And why use OSM, if the roads/poi are all drawn in , why should you do it again, to make a track.
You can download online OSM data, but from sites you can download, raw datfiles by country of part of it.
And use one file with your own tracks.
Make a new layer, and copy all you need in it cut/merge roads, and save it as a gpx file.

And all these other maps you can lay underneath it.
