After a three week trip up north, I had a chance to head out for a few....

While I was getting snowed on, some of ya'll were enjoying Desert Daze. Since I missed that event I thought before I leave I wanted to checck out the Jackson cabin road fourteen months after the agencies ran a dozer over it.

I got a late start with the wind kickin, I wanted a site with a view.

    Had a wonderful eve.

Motored out the rest of the way.

The money spent on the road truly knocked its rating down a few notches!

A nice ride on a new set of TKCs, every thing from sand to seventy.

Hope you guys are all enjoying spring.

Looking forward to my next trip west as always, but it's finally trail riding season here in Maine. Things are still a little wet though. :lol3

Anyone know of any shops that can manage to remove a tire from a Ducati wheel (without scratching or gouging my wheel) and do a good patch/plug job? I'll just be bringing in the wheel so no need for them to be able to remove it from the bike. I just picked up 1/2 a C-clip through my rear tire (that only has 200 miles on it) this past weekend. I don't track the bike and would like to give a patch plug a shot. Everybody I called in Sierra Vista and On Any Moto in Tucson claimed they don't to repairs "because of liability". Figured I'd give this one final shot to see if any shops will do the work before trashing a new tire.

How big is the hole? I've got a plug kit, tho not a patch I've heard a lot of folks ride on with the plugs.

It's iffy. Probably 1/4" on the outside...slightly smaller on the inside. I rode back from Tucson taking it easy on a rope plug (the kind with sticky shit all over them that you push in and then pull out real quickly). Not exactly ideal but it got me home. I hate the though of trashing a brand new tire...but the more I think about it the more I'm hesitant to do much else on a plugged tire other than putt around SV and on post. I'd be willing to give it a shot if you have a "better" or more permanent plug solution.

In other news...was building a few kydex holsters for customers today and drilled a 1/4" hole in my middle finger down to the damn knuckle. I need to buy a drill press... Clutching should be interesting when riding now...

Okay. I'll see what time we get done. Bought a new helmet for my little guy, so I might have a traveling companion.

I'm going. I went last year and it was a good time. I'll probably head up Thursday. Last year I took a scenic route and two days to get there. This year I'll probably do it in one. I haven't decided on a route yet.

Man, I wish I could but the 18th is my better half's bday. I never heard of it before so I checked out their website and it looks like it would be a great time. I might be riding up to northern colorado in august and wanted to do a few medium rides before then. This would have been perfect :(

Picture something like a SEMA show set in national forest. I went last year and it was a good time.
