WORD! yours died cause it was rich, also if the passage are dirty or you have bad gas its easier to diagnose, as well as stall...

    its a semi ester blend...

its on sale down here and as cheap as my lovely delo400

its getting real hot down here and what the hell, trying a new oil wont kill me...

Thanks for the feedback. Did you need new cables for your riser/bar set up?

I use Motul on my Bike. I switched over a few years back and I like it.

    Cheers,

TheRealBigMan is going to check this for me in a day or so but I thought I'd ask here as well if someone has easy access to it.

I'm wanting to get metric measurements from center of hole to center of hole from 1988 to 2000 XR600R gas tank bracket.

I made a custom bracket to fit a Clarke tank to work on an XR250R but need to drill it still and if the OEM bracket has the correct fit, then I'll just buy a pair.

From the custom bracket I made, the measurements are:

    1) 7.5 cm
    2) 9.5 cm
    3) 4.0 cm

Any help would be greatly appreciated. And yes, I already got plenty of drilling advice and have that covered if I decide to go that direction.

I thought it might be rich but it definitely needs the full choke to start easily (first kick)...so it might be only slightly on the rich side? And yeah it's just a hiccup only at 1/8 of throttle or less. I'll try barely adjusting the fuel screw. Thanks guys!

I wanted to make brackets that would tilt my infamous IMS4 galon tank up and back a bit since the wings sat so close to the head that in real hot climbs it would boil my gas!!!1

id really be interested in seing pics of your finished brackets

that way I could switch back and forth if I wanted too

    thanks

Hey man, yeah I've used 20W-50 Motul 5100 in my road bike before and liked it. Was having trouble selecting neutral while the bike was on, would just click between first and second. Changed to the Motul and I have been able to easily find neutral for the past 3500km.

If you find it on special I would say grab it! Not sure about the XR but can't imagine that it would be too picky re oil?

Got a visit from the courier today, the gears from Steve have arrived!
Amusingly, the rest of the stuff needed for the rebuild is still probably 2 weeks out.

    Will update as it progresses.

Just make sure that your oil does NOT have any friction modifiers in it, as these will play havoc with the clutch......

    Hey 'Salvador,

I run Motul on my '09 Kato 4fiddy & G'box on the Kato 2hunge and won't use anything else, love the stuff. It is very popular down under... just wish I could post that it was cheap here as well !
However ! I use genuine Honda GN4 on my piggy.

Have pulled the forks and rear shock out ready for Eibach make overs, I've never done a shock before but done heaps of forks, anyone got any tips for the rear rebuild, I've ordered seals and dealer will do the nitro refill. What type of to use and how much oil?

Just about to strip it down, Roost.
