As far as Racing Movies go just the trailer for this one makes it #3 behind Grand Prix and LeMans.

    I agree with you:

    Grand Prix
    Le Mans
    Rush
    SENNA

and if enjoy vintage racing at it's best purchase:
both book and movie "The Speed Merchants" great vintage racing with many famous faces of yesterday. Unfortunately it was also the period of many fatalaties.

I used to attend all the original Long Beach Grand Prix till they started bringing Indy Cars and had the honor of meeting Niki Lauda before his horrific accident and James Hunt driving for McLaren and in his last year for Walter Wolf racing. Hunt was very popular with the girls :evil

I have to say, I was pretty disappointed. That may well have been due to my high expectations but I just thought the racing scenes were pretty weak (the SAME pits for every freakin' race ?) and the CGI was very clumsily done. There were of course several errors....

I'll watch it again to give a fair shot but I don't expect my opinion to change much.

    I wasn't raving when I left either.
I thought it was good, but not as good as I had hoped.
Same issues you had, and I guess the simpleton explanations annoyed me.

The movie was about the two men, not the racing. You could have replaced the racing part with alot of other sports.

If it was a racing movie no one would go see it.

Anyways its good Press for F1 and racing in general. I only wish Barry Sheen could have been in the movie since those two ran a train on BA girls two weeks before the race in Japan.

Great movie, even the women along liked it so you don't have to be an F1 buff or race fan to enjoy.
The movie is getting great reviews and seems to be doing well enough despite initial fears that the story wasn't "American enough"!

I thought it was excellent :clap Been following the sport since 1975 so of great interest to me, thought both actors were outstanding, 9 out of 10 for me.
