I don't think it's that kind of loud. Remains to be seen once i compare it with some of the stock DRZ's. I'm not into pissing people off.

Glad to see you got the bike Thinc2!

Hope you enjoy it as much as I do. If you have any jetting/setup questions Burned from Thumpertalk.com is the DRZ guru. He's hot a modified DRZ400S that puts out 55HP, is reliable and runs strong.

This is a great thread, but we can't just keep listing good deals and not act on them. it's just too tempting. At some point someone has to blow their wad. So I volunteered :nod

I called some of the people that had posted on Craigs list about three weeks ago, thinking if they've haven't sold the bike yet, they'll definately be more likely to negotiate.

Not all the deals that look good turn out that way - the DRZ listed for $2500 wasn't even worth going to look at - I could tell it had had a very hard life and was going to need some investment.

The other bike though turned out to be the winner. A 2001 Kickstart with under 2000 miles on it. Nearly street legal. Plenty of room for negotiation and the guy (who owns a suspension shop outside of Co Springs), agreed to deliver it to me in Broomfield - sweet!

Yah, Yah, enough of the story - no one cares but me. Here are the pics:

I used this thread to link to Craigslist a day before the ad expired. Which means I would never have found this bike without this thread.

99% of this thread is all of us drooling over bikes we can't buy - temptation unfullfilled (or perhaps disaster narrowly averted :). But in this case the thread actually helped - so thanks! :thumb

Glad someone's diving into the pool, Congrats on the ride!

Craiglist is a moving river of rides that we all lust for, but seldom go fishing. Most of the time, thats good...it keeps a bunch of old heart throbs out of the garage. It keeps a bunch of over-used/under loved POS out of the garage. But now and then, its a great place to pick up a clean local bike that works out. I bought a Rebel for the wife last spring off the list.

Thank goodness it doesn't cost anything to look!

Is that a new '06 Civic in the garage behind the bike? If so, any details? I've heard good things about the new model. We can do this via PM or email if necessary as probably no one else is interested.

If I rent it and hurt myself would you design a house for me in lieu of me suing you ?

How do you solve that problem ?

I see the dyno graphs but I truly find it hard to believe they can get that much power out of that engine. Wow! I wonder about longevity?
