My 950 Refresh or Mission Creep...

That is some funny stuff. Welcome to the rowdy side. I still have a BMW and I love the brand deeply but there's just something about the KTM that is truly intoxicating. The sound, the power, the hooliganism that they promote. Yes, unless I can get Chris to CNC some 1100cc cylinders there's not much more to do - but ride it! Yeah. Finally!

PS Dear god Chris, please don't leave it outside. You have a miserable track record with things left in the lot. I do as well for that matter. Last time someone rammed a van through the locked gate, passed over a Ducati and a BMW and loaded my KTM 525 in and that was that. Maybe we can rent a drive in freezer?

You are probably aware, but your BMW is featured in a special BMW supplement in Bike magazine that just arrived this week in the UK.

I am going to write to them and suggest they do a feature on the 950 Refresh.

Holy hell! I gave the index at the beginning of this thread a quick glance and thought I'd spend 10-15 minutes here. A few pages later, a cast of characters emerged and 10 hrs later I had consumed the entire 78 pages.

Not to mention the passion and love for this two wheeled addiction and attention to detail. Thanks for sharing your talents and curiosity because thats what makes for epic projects coming to life.

I was luck enough to meet Craig and his mean green "Be all it can be" machine last year. I was really impressed by both! You guys have taken this another step. Great stuff! Hope to sample one of these great pieces of art again soon!

Ok great thread the fabricator in me wont sleep for a month now.
But on the starting topic....What about using a primer from a Ski-doo snowmobile instead of a choke? Yes the carbs have a pump that you can use prior to starting the engine but... If you have an ability to push the primer in slowly after the bike fires up it can inject a small ratio of fuel into the sytem without changing slide position. Its worked on all our stock and highly modified race sleds for years regardless of how cold it gets. The part is like $15 and finding a place to inject into the side of the carb or flange probably isnt that hard to do. I dont have carbs yet so I cant comment fully. Just a low buck idea.

Good news for those waiting on Chris to finish the chokes: I am too busy and broke with trying desperately to get into our house (so very close but like this bike it's epically beyond original scope) that I won't be shipping it out to Portland for the One Motorcycle Show but my Boxer will be in it. Realistically I have no time to ride right now and my garage is full of carpentry stuff as I continue to build out the house.

Spring sometime is more likely. Chris, how's those chokes coming?

I'm ready to pull the trigger on a Full Monty with chokes. I have high hopes that it happens before spring. I understand it's quite a challenge, so I won't be too upset if it can't happen :)
