bravo creola. a larger bolt will need a larger bearing to slide through, and more machine work to the linkage block. structural integrity and simplicity .cheers
Mounted an EBC SM6017 320mm rotor kit. This kit. It came w/ 2 bolts but not the washers/spacers shown. I used a couple washers I had around. Not sure it's needed but the bolts looked long & washers worked fine. EBC 320mm vs Stock YZ 250mm rotor. EBC make a 270mm or 280mm kit. The tock BMW rotor is 300mm. Posted mobile on Tapatalk
BTW for those who want to use the YZ brake master I saw this on the HDB website... Brake Switch, Banjo Bolt-Brembo
A question to all interested the 1" raising links. With or with out bearings, bush and bolts? Obviously this will make a difference in the price.
I suppose it would depend on the price difference. My bearings are quite new, so I could reuse them if necessary. Thinking about it, for an easy life, I'd be in for 2 complete sets.
If he (or anyone) has to replace bolts on numerous occasions, I'd wager there is something else that needs to be changed, too. Like stiffer spring or more travel or less hucking.
If you are cheap, limit the travel of your forks and keep the stock shock. If you want to play ball, spend the money get a custom shock to match the extra travel. Ride with peace in mind.
mines done its duty on a stock shock, and taken alot of hits. a more progresive shock spring and valving, would relieve us both :huh. but then ill only want to ride it faster of course. custom built clevis perhaps?.thanks for adding valid insight guys.
I went with a Hyperpro from these guys and sent my forks in to get progressive springs front and rear. The Hyperpro comes with a thicker clevis shaft so hopefully it will last. http://epmperf.com/ After you raise the rear, you need to make sure front and rear suspension is perfectly balanced and damped correctly.
All first rate. They are a dealer for Hyperpro which is made in Europe. You need to give them all the details of what you need and they custom build a shock for you. It comes in a beautiful heavy duty box too. The shocks are sweet, and the front end came back better than ever. Well worth it. Also, if you mention KOTW2012 they give you 15% off. Ask for Klaus and mention advrider too.
As requested I have machined a prototype reaction link based on the drawings of others. I am not sure what the lift will be based on the 77.5mm center center length. You folks know that better then I. I turned a plug to simulate a bearing and race so i could confirm full movement in the swingarm. I am thinking $85 USD per set shipped CONUS without bearings, bushings and seals. $150 USD per set shipped CONUS with OEM bearings, bushings and seals. Outside CONUS shipping will be quoted. These will be custom to your center to center length. The one shown is 77.5mm center to center. You ride at your own risk with these. I assume no liability for damage to you or your machine.
