Your right on the valves.
I read on how to do the them on an F800ST. UGH!!!!!!!
Practically disassemble of 1/5 of the engine then try to get shims in a tight spot.
My C50 isn't as easy either w/ the frame almost on top of the cylinder heads leave not much room for a ham fisted sized mechanic' hand.

On more of a philosophical notion: Will the advent of the Wetheads herald in a new group of luddites that draw a line in the sand as to where progress should have stopped and not reared its ugly head. Will we have a new tent at the MOA for Oilheads only?<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" />
Slightly More Simple by Choice?
Seeing this opportunity, will the Airheads embrace the Oilheads and unite the clans against the menacing two wheeled abominations flowing ethylene glycol through their veins? Only time will tell.

This is going nowhere...

DasMatti, are you still out there ?
Is there anything else new you can tell us about the GS H2O ?
In addition to the Japanese-style left-right turn switches, is there anything new on the handle? Electric screen? Plug-in Nav K16-style?

Just give us something to chew on for the next few weeks... anything will do....

I can't resist to repeat a reply given to me on the same question earlier on in this thread:

If I were them, I'd claim I was offset by scooter sales. Much how Porsches are offset by tiny diesel VW's.

It's more like 1) continue business as usual or 2) more power to the people.

Hendrik von Kuenheim, Director of BMW Motorrad, said "The boxer, as it is designed today, can meet the future limits for exhaust and noise. It doesn't force us to water cooling.".

Yep, it seems to have an instrument panel similar to that of the K16s.

My thoughts exactly. My gut tells me it's an exercise, so there's a lot of speculation (as is always the case when heritage meets progress). BMW know where their bread is buttered and the engine architecture has been understressed and solid for years.

Unless they feel compelled to enter the hP wars.

DasMatti, I am really glad to see that you are still around and in good humour.:D

Well, staying in the instrument panel and handle bar, you could tell me...
1) is there a built-in cradle for the Navigator IV ?
2) is there an electric screen?
3) is there cruise control?

A Spanish magazine reported 129 HP, a French magazine said 125 HP. Oh, well, in that ballpark I'm happy.
Now, the question that is really, really killing me is: will there be a normal GS and later an Adventure declination of it, or will there be just one bike? This is key of buying it early, or waiting for the Adventure to come out and in the meantime think of alternatives. Now, I cannot see that from the spy picture, maybe you can just give a hint...:ear

BMW can do the same.

The duc 1199 deliver 196 horses.

Why not give us 140-145. Pleasure is power.

The tech is here and now.

I think your job in the Marketing department is safe and sound. However, if you're not in that department you should be. You've got folks here drooling and hanging on your every word. You should ask for a raise, because as a human hook-setter you are the best! :evil

I wait to hear more. :ear Keep the info coming.

I suspect this is BMW leaking info to us. It happens and is all part of modern marketing. I do like the info so keep it coming
